I've read something about potential Sordo's start in du Var, anyone knows more? Would be nice benchmark for Robert I think!

Sordo is not on the entrants list but Freddy Loix is driving a 307 WRC, so he is a pretty good benchmark. :)

Maybe, maybe not. In the interview he said "some limitations" not "big one" as jurno wrote, and he said about current stage of rehab because he is working on it. Will he make it or not - nobody knows

yeah, I mean it is nothing we didn't know. Though him saying this doesn't sound to optimistic sadly.

Nope, he did say it in the video on the page that kraduk linked. Starts at 0.55 m

Maby the video doesn't work for you so here is what Kubica said: "I have big limitation of my arm, which doesn't allow me to test in the singleseaters. But (about) this unfortunatelly for the moment I can't do nothing"

From the last few seconds of that youtube vid just above, there looks to be some 2006-2010 era Focus models in the garage, as well as another C4 WRC...

They know this rally very well, that's for sure.

According to this site the Focuses are from 2006 and the C4 is recent.

Fontana, Porro and Fe are very experienced drivers and definitely the best Robert had to deal with after his return.

They were streaming press conference/summary of the first day on official Rally di Como website with some drivers. To say that they were impressed with Robert's driving would be an understatement. I know they're not world level rally drivers but nonetheless they must know something about rallying and they're really convinced he can reach top level in the sport. I confess, when listenning to the Fontana (2 positioned man after first day) and Valsecchi (yes, GP2 driver) I got my eyes wet

Oh dear god can we have some kind of perspective here?

These are average drivers, in a clubmans rally, with robert driving a factory world rally car, and the greatest ever rally car ever built at that.
Of course he's leading.

If he wins Du Var, then I will get my hopes up!

I believe it is a photo right after driving out of the truck, I don't think tyres are in shakedown/rally spec.

Of course they are - they still had their stickers on them......
He's running Michelins today too

I must say, that based on my knowledge of the users on the forum, I put some more weight to Kosmic33's thoughts about rally drivers. No discredit to all of you others, I just know he is a big rally fan.

However, are the asphalt-Pirellis still s*it compared to BF's(Michelin) on dry tarmac? I remember they were utterly useless when it was a tyre war in WRC.

I think Kosmic33 is right about Robert's opponents. Though as I said they did the rally numerous times, so they know it very well.

The Pirelli's have improved quite a bit in recent years, they now grip as well almost as a Michelin, they're just nowhere near as durable.

@DrP - Thats the 1st time in his comeback i've seen a photo of him with Pirellis (although I dont go searching for them like you guys!) on any car.

Looks to be going well today - theres quite a few videos on youtube.
With his car advantage i'd fancy him to beat Freddy Loix (a proper world class driver) for the win

Another interview in polish. He said that in last 7 days he done arround 1000 kilometers in racing and rally cars.
He said that he was happy about his latest tests on circut, hes done some long tests and is happy about stamina/endurance of his hand.
Also after seeing some of his onboard footages (rally) he was suprised that he could do some things with his hand, he thought he wouldnt be able to do.
He still hasnt decided if next year he will be rallying or racing.

let's be honest. it is not only Kubica superior skill, neither his car being superior (face it, Citroen C4 is still badass), but also that there are like 5 drivers in WRC cars competing with Kubica. we will see how it goes in France, but so far he is driving superior

It looks like Robert had some issues in the last stage (or was really cruising), he lost 38 seconds :( Anyway he still won the rally with 30 second lead.

Rumors about problems with the car's doors. Edit: Probably false.

In the interview I posted before Robert said some interesting things about the car. He said that it's nice to drive. On the fast parts it feels more like a racing car than a rally car and like a racing car is rather unforgiving. On the slower parts the car s really fun to drive, because it "turns good and brakes good", though it has some tendencies to lockups, so the driver has to brake cautiously.

BTW it's annoying that Robert doesn't do any rallying in Poland :|
