As far as I know, Ted Proctor built these at his workshop in Banksia...

He build several complete cars with these bodies, one with an Alfa engine IIRC, another with a Daimler 2.5 V8 and one with a Rover V8.

There was also the Manx Lancia it was painted blue with a Lancia flat 4 cyl engine and gearbox and fitted with a Turbo and it was raced by John Muddle.

I think that might have been a later rendition of the Alfa-powered one...

But I wouldn't swear to it.

I actually have an article in a 1969 Autosportsman magazine on the Manx and Ted Proctor - part of their series on Australian specials (another issue featured the J Goss Tornado as another example). If you want to get in touch, e-mail me on info@oldracephotos.com

Hi all,
I now own this Manx Lancia, when I found the car it was just a rolling chassis, no motor or bodywork.
I restored the car in the mid 80's with the help of Peter Simms, and raced it with a Porsche 911 motor, and 5 speed Porsche 914 gearbox, and Matich body work
I raced the car in mainly Porsche club events from 1987 till 1995, and I still own the car today.
I am now wanting to revive the car again and I am looking for anyone that may have photos of the car when raced by John Muddle
I am also endeavoring to locate the original body work of a Manx Mirage, maybe someone has a set of molds for Manx Mirage
I actually spoke to Ted Proctor just yesterday about the car, and he was very helpful, although sadly told me that many of the original body molds were taken to the tip in 1974 ):
I would love to hear from anybody who has any information about the ex John Muddle Manx, I know the owner history since John owned the car, but very little prior.
My email is tony@modularevents.com.au
Thanks

John Muddle runs at GEAR Club meetings(eg next Wednesday?) and still lives at Castle Hill perhaps -- though he did mention something about Central Coast to me when we last spoke
