They're probably all ghost-written, I doubt if many drivers have actually strung words together themselves without assistance.
Perry McCarthy used to write his own. His spelling and grammar were shocking, but his turn of phrase was a pure gift!

Jeez sport that must have been bloody interesting. Imagine how frustrated the Hawk would have got not being able to find a colourful enough cuss word in French to express his feelings.Paul Hawkins in the French Sport Auto in 1967.
