I dug into the archives and found George Follmer's column to be in Autoweek and Competition Press in 1973. It was appropriately titled The Verbal Fist. B²

The British weekly magazine 'Motor' carried the following columns:-

1979 - John Watson

Also

1974/75 - James Hunt

He was quite busy...

If Raikkonen had a column would it be an empty page?

I would have thought the same, but now he left F1 he's amazingly talkative in his recent RedBull mag interview http://issuu.com/red...howFlipBtn=true p.42-45

They're probably all ghost-written, I doubt if many drivers have actually strung words together themselves without assistance.

Perry McCarthy used to write his own. His spelling and grammar were shocking, but his turn of phrase was a pure gift!

Paul Hawkins in the French Sport Auto in 1967.
Alesi in Auto Hebdo.

Jeez sport that must have been bloody interesting. Imagine how frustrated the Hawk would have got not being able to find a colourful enough cuss word in French to express his feelings. :rotfl:

Jackie Stewart had a regular column in 'King Magazine' regarded as the first British high class men's magazine (pre-dating Mayfair magazine which took it over in 1968) it was quite substantial with great photographs too. Very interesting to read now, he wrote it from 1965 to 1967.
