Dear Sramoa< there are many erros in the results of the two races, 28 july and 15 december. The correct results are:

See this race in the newspaper "Jornal do Brasil", 30th, july, page 8:

Just to lay down a marker and to sort out the seeming confusion above, I've identified the following Brazilian events and winners in 1946. Note the important date addition in September:

July 28th Quinta de Boa Vista
Formule Libre - Oldemar da Silva Ramos (Alfa Romeo)
Touring Cars - Charles Herba (???)

September 8th Interlagos
Formule Libre - Oldemar da Silva Ramos (Alfa Romeo) [This is the race Boniver has listed as December 15th]
Touring Cars - Chico Landi (Mercury) [This is the race Boniver has listed as July 27th]

October 6th Gavea
CANCELLED

October 20th Interlagos
CANCELLED

December 15th Quinta de Boa Vista
Formule Libre - Chico Landi (Alfa Romeo) [This is the race Boniver has listed as October 6th]

There was a race in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, around the late 1940's. The venue was a street course around the Pampulha lake. The event was marred with tragedy when one of the drivers hit a lighting post and was killed. I'll see if I can find anything.

Hi Nikos.

It was 1949. The Belo Horizonte City Grand Prix with 21 drivers on grid. The driver (from Minas Gerais) killed was Otacílio Rocha. It was in the fourth lap. He lost control of his car on a curve and hit a post. He died in the ambulance going to the hospital...

In the second lap, the portuguese Antônio Fernandes da Silva, (he lived in Rio de Janeiro) crashed his Alfa Romeo 8C-308 in a pillar of a bridge. He survived but had a leg amputated.

With the two tragedies, the director Manuel de Teffé interrupted the race on lap 8, with 165 km.

The winner was Chico Landio (Maserati 4CL) in 1h23'15"7. He made the best lap in 9'04".
2º Francisco Marques (Maserati 4CL) in 1h24'41"7
3º Gino Bianco (Maserati 3750cc) in 1h28'18"8
4º Amaral Júnior (after 2') -1 lap
5º Antônio Parra -1 lap
6º Aurélio Ferreira -1 lap
7º Rafael Gargiulo -1 lap
8º Pascoalino Buonacorsa -1 lap
9º Nino Stefanini/Walter Tassini -1 lap

Best wishes,
Sergio Sultani.
