Hi and a Happy New Year to all

Has anybody else spent he whole of Christmas engrossed in the Classic Car Weekly win a classic quiz? For those of you who have been spared this fun let me explain. The quiz consists of a fiendish crossword, and two car identification quzzes one where the cars alphabetically link containing cars as varied as an Austin Allegro to a Zundapp Janus and another where cryptic clues are supplied, which is where your knowledge may be able to put me out of my misery.

I am down to my last car out of 70 to identify, the cryptic clue is large paranoid manager! the photo shows a 1930's/40's two seater open wheel sports/racing car coloured red being driven at I would imagine to be a quite recent event. Obviously due to the colour my first thought were Italian but after hours trawling the net the nearest I can get in design is an MG K3 Magnette which does'nt really fit the clue does it.

Any suggestions would be greatfully received

cheers

ps just before I make a fudamental mistake were both Ferrari America and Super America both available as convertables in the late 50's early 60's
