Calling all the Schumi haters: lets get behind him

What about giving him credit when he does a good job, or pointing out when he doesn't? What a prepostorous notion.
Alot of people are fans of good driving right? Or is it only fans of good driving when it's someone you like?

Ok as someone that has basically been against Mr Schumacher since 1994 i have to say something. A lot of the schumi haters are in their 30's and 40's lets turn the cheek and get behind him this year. I mean half the drivers this year would chase our daughters (if i had one). I promise this year i will get behind the pipe and slippers! score one for the old boys n all that! lets go for it!!
I'm with you!

I will cackle with delight at every failure, and grumble to myself at every success...
(like them good ol' days!)
Can't wait

And as much as i'd like to support the guy, he's simply cost me too much pain (and $) over the years.
Hamilton's going to be my new mika/villenueve, and i'll slap on the old mclaren cap for old time sake, and have a drink for each lap i see schumacher leading.....wouldn't want to be sober and have to deal with the pain of more schuey victory leaps.

haha, this is why I find it so hard to spend time on F1 forums... I mean, come on. Are you really watching it for the man or watching it for what the man can do and maybe how he carries himself in the public eye?Love... hate.. is there no middle ground?
What about giving him credit when he does a good job, or pointing out when he doesn't? What a prepostorous notion.

Some people's attachments to their so-called favourite driver is freaking scary... like, "I'm going to guess you're emotionally unstable and unbalanced" scary...

I'm signing up. Until he does something that annoys me, then I revert to my usual anti-MS bias. But new year, let's give him a chance and all that.
I'm signing up, I'm prepared to treat him the same as any new driver, I'll watch how he handles himself and then form an opinion, but first "Shuey Chop" and its back in my bad books for him.

I don't hate, but won't support either. He twice deliberately crashed into his oppenents, an offence which I think is every bit as bad (if not worse) than NP's crash, but which the FIA did as near as damn it nothing.

Ok he sure has some balls, but that was never in doubt anyway. People dislike him for his antics, why should he be treated with more leniency just because he's 41.
I hope he beats the red cars other than that i hope he is at the back.
I do not forget how many titles he won with outright cheating, and how the cheating always followed him from one team to the next.
I expect nothing less or more from him than to carry on cheating till the end, with the FIA continuing to turn a blind eye to it all.

Damn, seeing as about every great driver has done things that can be called dubious you must be a vivid supporter of top drivers like Jarno Trulli, Mazzacane and such.
I hope he beats the red cars other than that i hope he is at the back.

Good luck with that. No matter what you might think, he has 7 WDC's and 91 victories.
How would you feel if people still looked at you for mistakes you made years ago?
Let 2010 be a fresh start

I used to love and hate him. Hate him for winning all the time, for his questionable moves and his disrespect and arrogance towards the sport and fans.
Here i especially think about the Monaco incident where he treated all F1 fans as if they were idiots. BUT at the same time, i couldnt help but respect his
all or nothing way to think and drive. Here is a driver that will do ANYTHING to win, anything. I never saw anybody with that eager to win and determination.
But yes i hated him and his little annoying bastard of a friend, Jean (Idiot) Todt.
But i agree, ill give him a chance now he is driving for mercedes. Only problem. All his hard maneuvers, will not work anymore. If we look at the idiots
in the race control center and their decisions the last two years, then schumacher need so seriously adapt. :-)

Nah, I like his racing, although not himself.

Well in that case i guess the score for him must be 3 good races and 88 bad from what i've seen around here

In fact it makes me think in a very dif way about him. IF, and just if, he competes with a legal car (...) and without number one status in his team, no matter his performances, MS will be one of my all time favourite drivers.
I never understood drivers who could "get out of the game" and simply stop racing. It think there s no such a think for real racers. It is like a virus. Well, maybe this is because i also couldn´t just switch the button and turned it off, fact is MS loves racing and that´s for sure.
For the same reason i miss JPM and mainly Kimi (snow mobile, he is in! Go karts? Kimi is in! Bikes, motorbikes, etc etc) so much.

Why is Frans not signing up here?
To me, Schumacher is what and who he is. I will admire his excellent driving as always, I will have my reservations when it comes to other aspects of the person, which I don´t even want to bring up here.
In general, I find it ridiculous to "follow" a driver for his personality and not for his driving. I mean, guys, are you teenage girls in love with their poster boy?
So we will enjoy a - hopefully - signature season 2010 and I am wondering which role Michael is exactly going to play in it. However, with Ross strengthening his back I have no doubt that it should be a reasonably successful season for the Schu.

Don´t worry, uncle Jean is going to take care of that...he definitely got behind Schumi long before there was a "signing up" on the BB for it.

When I used to chat with you in the ICQ/MSN days Schumi to you was the equivalent of satan, quite a conversion
What next ? Frans joining the Schumi fanclub
On a personal level I will forever be grateful to Schumi for what he did at Ferrari but there is no chance of me cheering for him this season

Just remember, Owen, how Schumi came out of the team bus then, escorted by Jean Todt with his face, and denied any wrong doing in Rascasse....
Wonderful memories...
Maybe Schumi will put a few more into his collection of racing memorables.

Can't say I'm supporting him, but won't begrudge him any clean wins. Still hope that Nico gives him a good run for his money, at least.

I can't i'm afraid, someone who has so blatantly cheated will NEVER get my support; that doesn't mean I hate him though so wouldn't label myself a "hater.
Just can't support him
