Can anyone here shed some light on correct engine size for Audi quattro A2. This was homologated in May 1983.
The initial versions, both in Group 4 shape and the initial Group B car had the 2144 cc engine.
With the turbo-factor of 1.4, this put the car over the 3-litre limit, so for the A2 version the engine was downsized.
The original 86.4 mm stroke crank seems to be kept, so the bore was altered.
I have two Graham Robson books and both claims 2135cc for the A2 engine.
Two Reinhard Klein books states both 2109cc for the downsized A2-engine.
Anyone with Audi Sport connections ?

There was an article on the Audi A1 with an engine description a few months back in Motorsport, but I don't have it to hand. Anyone?

Rainer, I first asked my totally Audi-mad co-worker Jeroen (who was one of the lucky guys to be invited to the celebratory top-of-the-bill exclusive 20-years-of-quattro fest at Ingolstadt just recently) but he couldn't find the answer from where he is now. However, he said that any of these guys should know:
