Who do you predict will win? I think the irregular Ganassi entry is still favourite, namely because of its astonishing line-up with Dixon, Franchitti, Montoya and McMurray. The first three of them are road-course heroes as well...

No idea who'll win personally, anything can happen in a 24hr race, even if there are strong favourites, all it takes is a mechanical proble, crash with a backmarker or another car, badly timed safety car, changing weather, etc. Not happy that I'll only get to see about 4hrs of it (9-11pm Saturday night UK time, then 6.45-9pm Sunday night on British Eurosport 2)
Yeah, it's a shame that the night is not broadcast in Europe

Brilliant, thank you.
For those on Twitter, Juan Pablo Montoya (www.twitter.com/jpmontoya) is a maniac with his BlackBerry.
Has been giving pre-race updates, like this: http://twitpic.com/10bsnk - The car getting ready after the engine change!!!

During the race or when it's about to start try searching Livestream.com, ustream or justin.tv, there's bound to be someone showing it. Prolly will apear here when all's about to go ready.
And thankfully JPM answered the question we all had. What does a driver do to prepare the evening before a 24h race?

JPM's is a total kid!
Judging by his his Twitter feed he basically spends his time racing cars, building model planes, flying model planes, wind surfing and making babies with his beautiful wife.
Sweet life!

Not a really big follower of sportscar racing, but I've just read that this is probably going to be Hurley Haywood's last ever race. What a career.
Yes, a fantastic racing legend To win there at Homestead at his age was just fantastic!

The man posted on some TNF threads relevant to himself, a good few years ago.
But as a mod I thought you had your brain wired up to the BB's whole post history.

Not impressed in the slightest with British Eurosport. They haven't even shown the start of the race (currently showing live futsal). Glad there's a live feed too, as we barely get 4hrs of the 24 live here. Any idea of the forecast? Obviously it's wet at the moment, but what about later?
Apparently there'll be rain for another two and a half hours, and then it'll hold off for the rest of the race.

Well I'm not familiar to some of the depths of TNF, let's put it that way.
Okay, back to the DPs, sorry for the short divergence.

Appears to be a bug with Flash 10.1. Running the stream in through VMWare Fusion instead, at least there's some reason to keep Windows installed.

Not sure why they are even bothering.
Especially as during the night they're showing TV Shop, and Eurosport News. Why not show the race overnight? Thank god for a live stream.

Looking at the grandstands there seem to be very few people there
Most of the fans are in the infield section, i think the infield holds up to 50,000 people

Well he spends most of his time either on the road or at his warehouse. Don't forget customizing karts for his kids (his daughter got one tricked out in Hello Kitty style) and dropping off Sebastian at school.JPM's is a total kid!

I think he spends more time working on his planes than he does flying them!

TV rights, I'm guessing they don't have a contract to show the whole race live. Just as they have a deal with the ACO to do exactly that for Le Mans.

I agree, compared to sebring, le mans or the nurburgring 24 hours it really lacks atmosphere, at least on the television screens.

That's a pretty good crowd for an American sports car race. It's one of the bigger, if not the biggest, crowds the Grand-Am series will see all year. I could be totally wrong on that though since I don't follow it much at all. I do know that they don't get near that amount at the tracks in Virginia and New Jersey and I remember watching a race at Watkins Glenn last year that was under 50,000 as well.
