Bit old, but I only found out today. He's gone to a new GT1 sports car Championship.

What an anti-climax after a stellar junior career.

Bet he'll regret taking that Renault drive for the rest of his life or I rather fancy he'd be there this year in place of Petrov. Possibly.

So, that's it then, probably the last we'll hear of him. Au revoir!

Hopefully Grosjean will get an Indycar drive and win a championship there. A very classy driver with mega pace, so close to Alonso in the first qualifying battle despite so little miles in the Renault Rcrappy car.

Grosjean debuted at the AutoGP this weekend at Spa. Fastest in both practise sessions and pole with a half a second margin. Someone, please give him a ride in F1 next year

No surprise... what a criminal waste of talent.

Grosjean was better than Buemi in GP2, and Buemi is doing quite well in F1. The Renault young drivers program sucks.

He is simply not good enough for F1 just like that 2nd driver of STR. They are also dangerous creating crash after crash. Please let them drive in F2 or DTM.

Are you still sure about the 2nd driver of STR being dangerous and creating crash after crash? Or did you mean Buemi? ;) If you meant Alguersuari, he is the one of only five drivers, who finished all 8 this season s races...

Auto GP? Oh dear. That's even more of a waste-of-time single seater series than A1GP and Superleague Formula ever were. F1 won't be paying much attention.

Still, qualifying 1.1 seconds (!) ahead of anyone first time out apart from Luca Filippi, who does have some quality, goes to show how much of a superior talent he is.

deserved another seat this year IMO, the Renault last year was a horrible car, should not judge a driver off of that. certainly deserved a drive over some on the grid.

I could see one of the newest teams (either from this or next year) to give him another chance.

I always said that Grosjean was good. What did people expect when he stepped into an uncompetitive car in 2009? He needed to tone down the aggression a bit but apart from that he was fine.

I can't understand why everyone thinks he did a bad job at Renaulta last year. Substituted Piquet beside Alonso, who is regarded as a fast driver, in Alonso's team which at the time was in pretty bad shape. Many times he was a few tenths off but in my opinion did a lot better job that Petrov without the benefit of testing the car at all.

Yeah i agree, Badoer and Fisichella's struggles really highlighted the difficulties of getting up to speed without testing. Would defo like to see Romain given a second chance.

I agree... Grosjean could be a suprise this year as Alguersuari, if he had a chance to drive a solid car... Maybe Renault instead of Petrov...

Grosjean makes one-off return to GP2 for DAMS.

Despite it being DAMS, I hope he kicks some bottom and continues to get himself back on the F1 radar.

Wonder if Grosjean is going to be another driver to fall by the wayside, he looked impressive in GP2 at times and had a pretty good ascent up the junior formulae ladder, he was kind of rushed into F1 but with time I think he could do a good job. Now he's doing GT1 and AutoGP so the future isn't looking great but hopefully he can do a good job this weekend.

Excellent, even if it's at the expense of Jerome D'Ambrosio which is another driver I like - unfortunately Jerome is being a massive disappointment this year.

Just watched the GP2 sprint race and mr "growjean" was pretty impressive, started right near the back of the field and pulled out some great moves to end up in the battle for 6th, shame him and maldonardo (if that how ya spell it?) came together but i really hope he gets another shot at f1, the guys got talent theres no doubt about it, renault just threw him in the deep end to soon and under prepared to show his true level.

I just finished watching the GP2 sprint race on Eurosport! Damn!!!! Grosjean is quite a good driver. A pity he didnt make it in F1 one. The way he stormed through the field until Pastor Maldonado kicked him out. Not bad! NOT BAD AT ALL!

And how exactly is that bad news? He's exciting to watch in FIA GT1 and Le Mans, but moreover his future might be in prototypes - as he said earlier himself. Sports car racing is doing better than you might think.

There's nothing wrong with it but are you telling me Grosjean this time last year really thought he'd be doing sports cars, his target is F1 and the path he following at the moment is unlikely to lead him there.

Obviously, but going Le Mans / GT1 route is way better than wasting your time in F1 test driver role or doing "Pantanos" in GP2 or other lower formulae.

For people like Gimmi Bruni getting out of F1 must have been a bless, since he's now one of the most best and praised GT2 drivers in the world.

Eh, if anyone gets a penalty there MY guess it's Grosjean. He had a good drive but he was very reckless. The pass on Maldonado required Maldonado avoiding a collision. Had he not seen Grosjean or not reacted quick enough Grosjean would have slammed into him and gotten himself a penalty. Not that it matters for Grosjean, as he is on a one race deal. Easy to barge your way past if you don't care about finishing!

Grosjean's doing three separate races this weekend at the same track... the two FIA GT1 1-hour races in his regular Ford GT, and the full 24 Hours in a Mosler.

Oh yeah, thread title corrected.

At the very least, I think he's confirmed that the DAMS team problems this season is not necessarily just down to the car.....

It seems that Ho-Pin is going to return rather sooner than later so I don't think Grosjean is filling in for him. I may be wrong.

If you don't actually write anything, it's a bit tricky to quote it. The point of a forum is to exchange thoughts and opinions on a subject, but apparently you don't have any. Oh well, nice pretty picture.

Ouch! Now that was a right Royal slap in the face. Off with ya head lol. Well what is there to say about him? He has a hot chick yet didn't succeed in F1. Story over..
