Lothar,

Hi and welcome! You could try the Gus Kuhn racing website. They ran BMWs with a number of riders in the 70's and 80's - mostly in endurance and production racing.

Try this link:

Good luck in your search!

All the best

Hi Lothar, do you know Mick Walker's "BMW: The racing story" , I assume it should be helpful for your search.

Edit: The Belgian Vanneste brothers and Tony Wakefield are also worth to be mentioned...

Edit edit  Jock West and Karl Gall too

Thank You

I am sorry that I did not give the time range which intersts me most:

It is the 1950ies and 1960ies

But - please - keep on delivering all that You have got!

Continental Circus has already mentioned Florian Camathias, to the best of my knowledge he is the only non German BMW rider to have won a TT, the '63 sidecar. Mac McDiarmid, the respected biographer has also raced a BMW at the TT. Another that comes to mind is Nick Jefferies. Have a look here, http://www.iomtt.com...spx?mach_id=161

I've just been looking at this, there are too many to mention.

That's part of the reason that I don't post too often, as I'm invariably wrong. It gets a bit embarrassing after a while. Too many people on these boards with far too much knowledge.

Edit, I used to think I was quite knowledgeable, no longer I'm afraid.

Quite a lot, isn`t it?! And that is a list only from the 500 cc GP sidecar races from winner down to place number 10! If You consider that there were only 25 engines/motorcycles to be built of the RS 54. There were more sidecar outfits in other countries plus the solo motorcycles.

Solo riders from Britain were Geoff Duke, Dickie Dale and John Surtees.

Thank You for Your help!

Please keep sending more information if You have any!!

Hello,

I just noticed a thread about 1954 500RS in Finnish veteran bike forum-
http://www.vmpk.fi/f...p?topic=47819.0
Finnish racer Raine Lampinen raced it 1954-1955, then it went to Sweden to Evert Carlsson, who raced it 1956-1961. 1962-63 it was raced by Bosse Rindar and then the engine went to sidecar use.

greetings, Tony
