Thought people who are nostalgic as I am, might like to see this. My work, two versions. Enjoy.

Great stuff!. I always loved the JPS black and gold (I think it was actually changed to a yellow/greenish for TV). How about one in the classic "John Deere" green & yellow scheme?

Brilliant! And both are more attractive than the current scheme!

I'm puzzled. Is this artwork, computer generated artwork, or models? What ever they are really stunning.

Quite easy to do in Photoshop. Take an original photo. Isolate the area you want and then play around with colour settings.

Perhaps he could take his "bit of fun" over to Racing Comments.

Huh ? The Essex paint job is 30 years old : not nostalgic enough ?

Well done, and thanks! Pay no attention to the angry old men (they need to revisit the definition of the word nostalgia, which is the theme for this board). The paint job reflects a yearning for the past.

Nostalgia: A wistful, sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition; also : something that evokes nostalgia.

The graphic work impresses me but it is annoying. Though directed at Fernandes-Lotus rather than the poster. Their proposed 2011 livery evokes JPS/Imperial Tobacco paintjob, not a Lotus one.

Pay no attention to the angry old men (they need to revisit the definition of the word nostalgia, which is the theme for this board)

Two points:

When TNF was established, there was considerable debate over whether the name 'nostalgia' should be used for a forum aimed at discussing racing history, which - in spite of its name - is what it remained (in the main) for several years

Point 2: Nostalgia means different things to different people, depending almost entirely on their age. Hence my own tongue-in-cheek comment about the Essex Lotus

There's room for all here, but don't be surprised when some of us older farts find the inclusion of 21st century cars here slightly amusing

I must admit I find the whole "Lotus" thing slightly distasteful. Basically I feel they are trying to cash in on my (our?) nostalgia for the days of Team Lotus. I feel I'm somehow being used.

Having got that off my chest, I did enjoy Manchild's alternative liveries - but why no GLTL?

I felt that initially, but then figured that it's at least a doff of the cap to the history of the marque in the GP days of the 60s. What I've struggled with subsequently is the McLaren team, where a workforce approaching 1000 people struggle at times to get the job done, whereas in its' founding years, the original Team McLaren ran concurrent F1, Can-Am and Indy programmes all out of the one shop, staffed by a handful of skilled enthusiasts working horrific hours for passion and love of the boss and the sport. Not really any resemblance to the original concept there, either... :well:
