I think I'd rather have the AI (I've a bad internet connection, and probably couldn't spend too much time on the game). It might be nice to give online a go, but it would be a lower priority for me. Dunno whether they intend to support it or not.

Likely means that people won't be able to spectate the races online rather than take part in them.

Ah ok. In rFactor that usually just created a lot of lag issues. Way better to broadcast it.

Looks alright I suppose. Not sure I buy into the hype that there will be marble build up etc. In the promo video one of the redbull cars has no driver in it.

A bit of a review there, and a few other bits of info. Safety cars not included (as mentioned already), but being considered for 2011, all flags to be implemented including red flags for race stoppages, driving the formation lap not in the 2010 version but being considered for 2011, no patch expected for the Korea track (the game will be out before the cars race there, so that'll be done without extra data from that weekend, but will be in the game anyway, albeit without a patch afterwards to make it even better).

Can't you tell for certain?

Some information on Autosport. Apparently the game has an Alonso mode;

Significant emphasis is also placed on car development and the player is pitted against his team-mate, with success measured by which car receives the latest updates and whether the driver is given further tasks to improve the car. The player is actively encouraged to win the team's favour over to their side of the garage.

No indication of whether there's a McLaren mode where the car updates are painted red or a Schumacher mode with extra points for handbrake parking.

and also, do the cars ever reach 220+ mph down the straights at monza? haha

Yeah they don't really do that. 210mph max, I'd say.

Probably they've only finished Monza so far.

Sadly based on Codemasters recent history when it comes to PC games, I'm not expecting more from the PC version than the Console game. I've a feeling they will just stick with the same physics etc and just port it to the PC. I hope I'm wrong but I'm not getting my hopes up. The last proper PC sim was the F1 Challenge '99-'02 game, now rFactor. It's still a very decent engine.

Well he didn't really brake, so the driver just made it arcade. :lol:

Might be true. Would certainly be disappointing.

Just weird that someone like Davidson is testing the game, there's no way he could find these typical console racing games anywhere realistic. If this game turns into that crap as well, there's not a chance he would be satisfied about it.

Depends how much he is being paid. I'm not sure how much influence he really has over the direction the game goes in. A console game is only ever going to be a certain level of realism.. although the Gran Turismo series have shown it's possible to be very realistic but they spend years developing that. And we're still waiting.

I predict that all the effects will be exaggerated beyond all correct proportions and the cartoony graphics and arcade obsessed style of codemasters will do nothing for this game. Roll on Gran Turismo 5.

Yeah but I think times have changed. These days console games sales put pc game sales to shame. So why put extra effort in a pc game when they're only 10% of your sales?

GT5 and F12010 are in totally different leagues. Both in terms of development time, development budget and the size of the team working on the game.

that doesn't mean that one will be arcady does it... its about whats developed; money and time doesn't change how the developers make the cars handle.

That's not surprising! Gran Turismo 5 is taking so long to come out that Gran Turismo 6 will be out before it. Somehow. :lol:

PC's are a real pain in the arse, especially when you try to play games on them. Even if you get a proper gaming PC, your still likely to suffer from a few frame-rate issues unless you know how to set it up right. So instead of playing the game, you spend hours trying to make the bloody thing work properly. With a consle you just stick it in and off you go...

I really never had that problem and my PC isn't that great at all.

If you'd buy a new PC now you could easily run games like rFactor or even F12010 when it comes out on the maximum graphics with high fps.

Wholeheartedly agree. Its so much worse than GT4 on the PS2 with PS2 controller was for some reason. The analog sticks feel too sensitive like there isnt as much graduation in the steering as their used to be which is strange given the controllers are almost identical. Need to try my G25 with it soon :cool:

Nah man, you're not an idiot, don't be hard on yourself, it's just a little learning and games will look a whole lot better, decent gear pending.

Then again, consoles are great too, it's just that they don't hold a candle to PC's graphically. But they cost a hell of a lot less too.

Most modern graphics cards have more power than 360 or PS3, let alone the rest of the computer.

That said, I'll be getting a 360 if project natal is all it's cracked up to be ;)

It will make a world of difference. Got lazy and decided i didnt want to drag my wheel out the other day. Used the controller and wow, couldnt make a turn worth anything..... wheel for sure!!! Anyone have a G27 yet? Thinking of upgrading just so I can put all the controls on the wheel when F1 2010 comes out later this year.
