I'd like to see more reward for winning races and the title.. celebration animations etc.. podium and paddock stuff with the team. Doesn't have to be much.. just a few canned sequences of you celebrating with your team.

You would hope so. They've really just got to design the new car models, fairly straight forward.. design a new track.. again not a huge task and then they'll be free to fine tune and add features. You would think it's can't possibly go wrong but we'll see.

It would have been straight forward to release another patch to F12010 to fix the AI issues.

I doubt the 2011 game will sell well at all. Too many people burned by the poor quality of the 2010 version.

Safety car -no way, too hard to implement.
Formation/recon/parade/victory laps -easy
Interactive podium -gimmick
Driver/helmet editor-easy
Dedicated servers should be easy
24 cars online -no way
Full pit lane driving control doubtful
Online practice sessions why?
Improve/tweak weather and damage systems doubtful
Improve/tweak handling, tunings, sounds, graphics, etc. doubtful
Helicopter view (circle the track) of each track pre-race gimmick
Show wrecks/cars being removed by from track (by crane?) gimmick
Small crowds during practice, medium during qualifying, and FULL crowds during races easy
Cameras flashing at start of races ??
Pitboard crew members leaning over walls during race gimmick
Full mechanical failures, as realistic as possible oh god no, they couldn't get punctures right
Splitscreen multiplayer easy
Share setups online easy
Replay editor w/'save to PC/Console' ability [for YouTube upload] no one does this, but it will lead to years if crap videos no one cares about

Meh.

Well you didn't have to choose to drive for Williams! Just picked up a copy yesterday as I've more or less exhausted GT5.
Found it impossibly difficult until I realised I had my wheel set up all wrong, duh.

Didn't a few older F1 games have the safety car as well? I'm thinking F1 '99 but I'm probably wrong.

A safety car would be just a gimmick really. I'd rather they get the core things right than worry about that.

Absolutely agree

I'd be happy if the 2011 game was a carbon copy of 2010 but with a decent (real world) penalty system and NO rubber banding (that really pisses me off and renders different tyre strategies pointless) plus a few other AI tweaks particularly where AI cars go around certain corners at certain tracks ridiculously slow, oh and get rid of the super greasy curbs on certain tracks if they can use them in the real world without spinning then why not in the game.

On a different note has anyone any idea why all the other teams dislike me because of what I say to the press despite the fact I always praise the team and answer the same way as I have in the previous 9 seasons that I've played when all teams appreciated what I said

What would really make the 2011 game would be the opportunity to drive all previous F1 circuits via downloadable content. It's a decent driving engine. They should exploit it. But Bernie would never allow that.

I remember Codies saying they'd been trying to get something sorted with FOM where they could do driver and team changes throughout the career. I wonder if they'd be able to get this into F1 2011: it's something I've always wanted in an F1 game. I can change teams but only ever at the expense of the previous driver. It'd have to follow F1 conventions or possible future 'history' (like Perez to Ferrari, or Hulkenberg/Di Resta to Mercedes) but at least it'd create a better impression of career progression, of years moving on. The car numbers would change depending on the championship standings too.

I think they need to tweak the visuals somewhat too, to create a better impression of speed. It never feels like I'm getting any faster despite what the speedo is telling me. The rate the scenery and barriers go past me always seems to be the same, which is a bit weird, however I wouldn't want it to be like Shift 2's effect where it's overly blurry for the sake of it.

Improving the AI's speed is also a must... even if it's just adding another difficulty level to the system, but I want to be able to go into a race not knowing for sure whether I'll be a frontrunner unless I'm in a top car. However I don't want it to be the case where I can't put in a giant-killing performance in a lower car. It's a balance to strike again, but increasing the AI's speed wouldn't drastically change that in my opinion. A slider system would be cool (100% for 'hard', but the ability to go to say 120% for an even harder challenge).

I would honestly love to have that. My main beef with career modes in F1 games is that it gets really dull to be racing against the same grid year after year. A little realism in that area would be wonderful.

Right now, it takes a modicum of knowledge to create a race video, and some are amazingly well done.

If they automate it, it will just lead to millions of vids no one wants. Pretty sure YewToob would block it.

Or at least have a wider selection of helmets: I like the Union Jack one, but only because there's not much else. If they had a wider variety of helmet designs, ones in the style of the current grid (quite easy to do considering most of them are just different coloured versions of each others...) and perhaps some classic ones too (an old school Schumi one? Hill, Prost, Senna...).

@Villes - PC versions do allow a lot of customisation, but there are those who would like some kind of parity between each port of the game. I have a games console to play, and I'd like to have certain features in the latest version of this game, as does Brandz. Is that too much to ask for, or are we resigned to shelling out for a PC?

I bloody hate Singapore. I think I finally know which kerbs to ride and which not, but then the tricky braking points in the third section make me use like 20 front noses per weekend. Stupid track from hell.

Huh. I hate.hate.hate. Monaco. From cockpitview you just can't see the apex. Singapore the track from hell? Then Monaco is purgatory.

That's strange as I do quite well (by my standards) in Monaco, even in the wet, but Singapore had me happy with 7th place.

I guess we are all different, but I also have problems in Singapore with the braking points, but Monaco I guess, is much more familiar, maybe that's it?

Maps of the tracks, accessible in the pits and through the pause menu.
Also, you should be able to pause the game and see what position everyone is in, lap time data should also be available through the pause menu.
Third sector times displayed in FP and Qualy sessions!
Get rid of the rubber banding.
The harder difficulties need to be harder.
Etc.

I've raced at Monaco with GPL, GP4, and rFactor, and I always suck there.

Do you race from cockpitview? At Singapore at all corners I can see the apex. (Though it is a very, very hard track). In Monaco I have to turn blind (and late!) all the times.

I just tried cockpit view for the first time around Monaco. Managed to qualify in 7th (driving as Kobayashi) and the race was 8 laps. Got up to 6th after Turn 1 and 4th by the end of the first lap. Overtook Webber going into Casino Square on Lap 2 and then Hamilton in the same place a lap later. By this time Vettel was pulling away by half a second a lap and by Lap 6 I still pushed hard. Did a 1.15.9 on Lap 7 to close in and was about a second behind coming into the chicane but I made a small mistake around Tabac and then at Rascasse. Finished 1.9s behind Vettel and 3rd (Hamilton) was 10.6s behind the winner. Quite fun actually, I should try cockpit view more :p

Hi there.

I posted in another thread then realised there is a devoted F1-2010 game thread. My feedback would be somehow allowing "spectator only" access to races, better live timing and fastest lap stats. Also being able to record online races to the PS3 HDD would be good!

I am involved in an online championship - and we all have to set up video cameras to record our races. We are taking the season pretty seriously and started doing race reports and lots of email banter - so suddenly we ended up with a whole website devoted to the championship! As i have said elsewhere, definitely a bit over the top but everyone is having a fun time with it. You can check it out below :

www.f1analysis.com

Cheers.

Yesterday evening I did a 100 percent length race in China... in Legends... in cockpitview... all aids off... no flashbacks used... finisned 9th in the HRT.

I never even went to the loo. I only paused the game seven times to watch replays and to relax my sore fingers somewhat

I can really recommend it. Great fun to watch F1 on the telly afterwards, especially the onboards.
