Hi one and all - sorry to have been away so long but 24 hours in day just isn't long enough.........

The CRMC is celebrating 30 years this September but there seems to be very little on the great big world wide web about the early days of the club or indeed it's founder members.....

It would also be interesting to find out any info from the 1st meeting that the club held......

That goes someway to explaining the clubs trophy for novice of the year which is the Stella Cathcart Novice Trophy, I gather that Alan was quite busy in the 80s as I seemm to have read somewhere last year that he was also one of the driving forces behind the formation of the VMCC.

The CRMC are celebrating their 30th birthday at Snetterton in September so I would presume that Snetts was the home of the very first meeting, It would be great to hear from anyone that actually competed at that meeting....

Not the VMCC,IIRC as this was mostly the baby of Titch Allen,when Sir Al was still in short trousers.

Remember rocking up at Brands with a pal of mine, Nigel Haddon, to help a mutual friend who was down to ride a 350 Aermacchi, they wouldnt let him ride as he didnt have a National licence, I rode in his place, what a blast ! Dont reckon those triangular Dunlops though, blink and the thing would turn on its side !
Remember I beat AC and he wouldnt let me have the trophy as I wasnt a Classic Club member !
Great fun though, especially when I said, "goes really well for a 250", then to be told it was actually a 350 !
Must have been early 80`s ?

Hi, I tried to get the Vintage Club to allow classics in to their race meetings in the mid seventies.The blowhard luddites voted it down. Shortly after Alan Cathcart-or"Crashcart" as the late Derek Older used to call him-started it. After a few shared meetings it gathered momentum to where it is today,the Premier Classic Racing Club in the world.Well done. In Sport, Rotrax.
