OK, his error under difficult conditions, but stop/go seems too much to me. Maybe they were trying to penalize the fact that he gained so much by the early pit-stop, because that accident was no different than so many other accidents for which drive-throughs were deemed sufficient.

jesus christ - a drive through would have been harsh, a stop and go is ridiculous.

Hamilton no penalty for same type of accident, Schumi penalty. Not to mention the idiotic Di resta penalty.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

did button get one in canada when he nudged alonso off and that was without even sliding

Yea. If he'd come in and been hopeless, he wouldn't have been penalised, I'm sure. Or Lewis Hamilton.

I'd give up if I were he.

no such penalties in canada and as for comparing that to hamilton in monaco seems these stewards just dont want someone to have a go.

he tried to pull out well before the collision and because of conditions was unnstoppable despite kobyashi leaving the door open

Indeed.

Button pushing Hamilton into the pit wall in Canada was also ok, it wasn't in Hungary last year.

Retarded, as usual, ZERO consistency.

If the rain returned and Michael somehow clawed back a points finish it would be rubbing in the #$%# in their faces.

Oh Mike, why? :(
Harsh decision but you can´t lose your FW 4 times in half a season.
Good thing is he was very quick in both intermediate and dry conditions.

Yes, the penalty for Schumacher was okay, and when you get a speeding ticket you can say that many other drivers didn't get it who were also speeding. And you'll still have to pay the fine.

No drive through for anyone today. All penalties are 10 second due to the short cut design pit lane.

can you give any example for penalty while losing control without trying to pass?

True. But if you are caught doing 33 in a 30mph zone (yes, he hit Kobayashi but he wasn't making a tupid move, he lost the back of the car in very difficult conditions. This is motor racing and he was pushing hard. We want to see that) you shouldn't get the same penalty as someone whos been caught doing 130mph.

I disagree with the penalty because that crash seemed to be the epitome of 'racing incident'.

At least Rosberg has nothing to offer against MS today on pure speed. Sadly he´ll collect the points again.

How could it get worse?

I know, why not put DC in as advisor to the Stewards, then MS can be given a penalty just for being on the track... god, damn chips on the shoulder; ashamed to be English at times like this.

Yup, I´m very surprised. He has the oldest softs but the times are still good although he´s stuck behind Sutil now.

WOW.. what a stupid decision for a penalty. No wonder people are afraid to pass anyone anymore. That was a racing incident with some poor judgement by MS.. but still..

AND INVESTIGATING BUTTON??? SERIOUSLY???? The stewards have gone made.

One race where DRS could have come in handy for MS, but it's not really working as well on this track.

Let me guess : Michael will be the only one penalised for a racing incident.

Silverstone 94 comes to mind.

Without the penalty he would have schooled Rosberg again.

I'm sure MS would have fought for 4th or 5th if not for his stupid penalty. Even Brundle (of all people) thought the penaly was harsh. He was so much quicker than Nico this entire race.

I'm not saying Hamilton should be penalised, he shouldn't, but assuming he isn't I think the stewards wrecked Schumi's race unreasonably.

On a brighter note he showed some great pace and put a lot of moves on people. He made a lot of clean overtakes. Its just a shame, what could have been...

because he did 3 stops already with the stop and go and a 4th stop wouldnt have gave him any positions it would have lost them

What a great recovery! Insane penalty, and where more people did close to or exactly the same, of course he was the only one penalized. Great speed today, great moves. With a threestopper he would've ended up even higher.

17 seconds behind his teammate, who had clean air for most of the race. And that with half a lap with a trashed wing, where he lost over 15 seconds, and a stop and go. Man, he was good today.

Michael once again flubbed another race by making another mistake running into the racecar in front of him soooo early into the race.

Maybe he can still drive the car as fast but his ontrack judgement skills seemed to have slowed where he can't process everything around him by a millisecond. Shame really as he has done it a few times since his return and ended up costing himself solid results.

It's a kind of tradition to penalize him heavily here :) He must be accepting it like an honor of some kind.
I don't care. Excluding the mistake he still drove a better and faster race than his teammate.

What does the stop and go have to do with anything? His final part of the race was so much slower than it could have been, in my eyes he clearly could have finished in 8th had he used that last set of softs.

He's clearly better than Rosberg this year - it's a shame the points don't show it.
