This team is a joke really. So they're now blaming Michael?? Can't believe it...And I still don't understand why this Jock Clear has to be his engineer... Great 20th anniversary, well done Mercedes

Of course. The visit to the stewards should be no more than a formality.

I think he does have parc ferme. Technically Michael took part in quali, he just didn't make it through to quali 2. The team can repair the car but the setup is locked in as far as I'm aware.

The retards at Merc being the pit crew or whoever is head of quality control. It's quite clear that a performance engineer doesn't have anything to do with the fitting of the tyres.

Wow, can't believe I had to spell that out to you, maybe a trip back to Primary School will help you develop some common sense.

Depends on whose mistake it was. If it was material then he has no responsibility. If it was human error then he is responsible, because he is also responsible for the men working on the car.

That's not the role of a performance engineer but let's say for argument's sake that it is, is he really expected to ask every one of the pit crew whether they've fixed wheel on properly or check every single wheel nut?

C'mon guys, this is silly. Jock Clear did not sabotage Michaels car.

That said, this is not the first time the Mercedes cars have lost a wheel. I'm certain I remember it happening before to Nico as well, and did Michael have a loose wheel that forced him to retire. There is a problem there the team need to look at. Not impressed with Mercedes at all.

Isn't he assistant race engineer for Michael from now on?

And yes, he is responsible for the men under him.

Not a chance, they're already celebrating.

No, but 'we're' absolutely gobsmacked that people here actually believe Clear sabotaged Shumi's car.

I said yesterday if I go back a couple of pages that Michael would have some problem qually and/or race.

I told you so.

Merc need to sack Jock before he injures Michael.

Poor MS, doesn't deserve this on a special race weekend. And worst news of all, it's expected to be dry tomorrow. Nico is having all the luck at the moment, only MS suffering poor reliability.

What? I was talking just to his responsibility as an engineer for the mistakes of his men. I don't believe he is sabotaging him.

I made a mistake in believing he was assistant race engineer and had some responsibility for what the mechanics are doing.

Thats the thing though, a loose wheel isn't acceptable in any conditions. Once a team might get unlucky I suppose, but this is too many times. I think there is a problem here that has happened too many times to be coincidence.

I don't necessarily mean individual mechanics errors, but something systemic either in design or procedure.

probably better to try and get past as many of the back of the grid team and hopefully some mid field ones off the grid and on the straight after eau rouge.

if he starts from the pitlane he wont be catching on to the back end cars until les combes :S then he has to follow everyone around the twisty bit

Yeah right, my ass. In the dry that crap of a car isn't capable to reach points. And even if he gets points, that's not what was wished for his 20th anniversary.
If it will be wet, then Jock will f*ck up the strategy or there will be some failiure again.
Expecting nothing from tomorrow's race.

Then the question is did somebody deliberately do that? Or made a mistake? If it was a mistake then it shouldn't have happened! Whoever did it was not doing his job properly!

joc probably filed the thread down so it would **** it up going on

dont understand why they have that clown anywhere near schumacher hes always been a hater and if hes planning on retiring anytime soon it wouldnt suprise me if he tried to get "even" by sabotage as best he can.
