ok, .... this is getting ridiculous....

more than half of michael's races, have had 'a glitch' occur.... and after today, i have to at least suggest, that perhaps Michael is being sabotaged...

its been tyre pressures, tyre temperatures, throttle suddenly failing in qualifying for one corner, car losing drive in another corner at a different event, and today, the wheel comes off..... this has happened more than 5 times this year.... and its getting a bit ridiculous, bordering on intentional

Agreed 100%

My main worry is, its only a matter of time until one of these 'problems' injure him in some way.

Quite dreading the race tomorrow now :(

Cut this conspiracy theory. Do you think MGP would pay Michael milions in order to sabotage him?

This reminds me a lot of Barrichello´s or Irvine´s days while Michael was the number one driver. These things just happens. You make your own lucky.

not MGP, maybe some disgruntled british mechanic or engineer.. but its getting a bit ridiculous... more than half the races something goes wrong or faulty or falls off or stops working

Please, there are far too many drama queens posting conspiracy theories as to how MS is being sabotaged by the team. It is a run of bad luck, plain and simple and if you are worried that it's a matter of time before a 'problem' injures him then you are watching the wrong sport.....

Now realised they put red tape on the intake to make it easier to recognize Schumi.

you miss my point, its one thing being hurt in a crash, its quite another when someone in your own team is doing things that may endanger you.

Half? Perhaps. The other half he crashes out of his own free will and in all of the races he lacks raw speed and maturity compared to his teammate?

Well, in 2002, Rubens Barrichello had 6 mechanicall problems in the first 11 races and 4 mecanichal problems in qualifying. Not to mention Austria nor Brasil (RB had to race with a one year old car...) All this happened and Michael had not a single problem. I am sure you don´t even consider something absurd like you wrote above, do you?

Now now, this conspiracy stuff is just as preposterous and crazy as when some angry Kimi fans blamed Ferrari and/or Schumacher sabotaging Kimi's Ferrari back in the day... ;)

So do you think this "someone" mysteriously appears in any number of teams when one driver gets what is BAD LUCK.
Like he would ever risk getting caught, or the potential of a manslughter charge. Silly stuff from silly Schufans but to be expected given the quality of many arguments and excuses for the guy.

I agree that incident was just unfortunate for MS.

However, it was very unprofessional regarding the wheel nut (error or not) not to mention the consistent issues regarding KERS and DRS for both drivers. This is a champion team it is about time they got their act together.

Is Michael OK? I guess that he will start from the pit lane tommorrow, if they had repared his car. (His wheel changer probably was celebrating a one glass too many). :)

Hello, just popped into this thread to say congrats to Michael for 20 years in F1. No matter how the race, the season or his career ends up, he's permanently got my respect. 20 years... wow.

How many other drivers just boast such long careers? (Time rather than number of races)

Well, Rubens has actually been in F1 longer if we take into account that Shumi was out for three years.

There are so many parts of the car that got tested during the testing era, and now that practice sessions/gp weekends are pretty much apart of the test, sooner or later, your going to get a collection of issues for a team/. Bizzare crash especially with the wheel coming off, it just shouldn't happen.

He said he was fed up with having to pay for certain "actions" (whatever that means) at Benetton.

I believe he has said that with Benetton their would always be allegations of cheating, with Traction Control, faster refueling due to lack of filters etc. so he needed a fresh start with a team that didn't have a reputation for cheating.

Right then, lets put all this sily talk of sabotage (joking or not) aside for a moment. I think there is a conversation to be had about Mercedes lack of competence, maybe I'll visit the Mercedes thread for that...

Michael is starting last but we a consistnently told that the Merc has a great DRS system and Schu has a lot of slower cars to clear. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a very entertaining race from him this afternoon, just hope he doesn't snag his front wing getting past anyone. If he can get up to 12th or so and then there's a bit of rain maybe, just maybe, some magic could happen.

Or he'll crash out within the first 3 laps. Lets see.

Has Michael had an off or did he pick up a puncture on the debris?

Damn shame either way, he was flying. Another wrecked race.

Yeah he was fast and the softs are falling apart, his strategy was good. Very frustrating, he should be in the points already but for that.

Hmmm.

Actually I'm not so sure now. Button is still on the hards and he is slow - Schumi is back ahead of him. If the hards area couple of seconds a lap slower than the softs it might have been worth throwing away a pit stop.

Safety car! Interesting!!! There is potential here to make up some great time, or throw away all the gains. Depends on how this second set is bearing up, I can't decide what the best option would be.

safety car would have been intresting if schumacher hadnt pitted for softs a few laps ago :S , schumachers only ahead of button because button lost a front wing in his first stint

Oh ok didn't realise that about Jenson! Cheers mate.

Well Schumi is up to 10th for the restart and the pack will be tight. If he can be fast on the restart then when the guys in front do their second stop it could bring him into the race. Is 6th a reasonable expectation?

he shuld be 9th or 10th now but fresher tyres than most people by a few laps , it puts him in nicos pitwindow though so we know what will happen if they end up anywhere near close

He wasn't going to keep Button behind but he can take comfort in that the others ahead (Rosberg, Massa & Sutil IIRC) pitted 3-5 laps earlier plus he seems to be faster than Sutil.
