luckiest man alive! what are the oods! i bet you have more odds of winning the euromillions for 7 weeks on the trot while winning your national lottery aswell for the same 7 weeks!

The luckiest man I have met was this dude who was struck by lightning twice.Odds were 1/300million just for one strike,so imagine two of them. I bought him a beer and told him to play the lotto, his chances were 1/40million.

Without a doubt Michael is a personality that draws out extreme responses, nothing run of the mill.
It comes with the territory, if you want to be NUMBER 1, you need to be ruthless, not a nice guy.
Check out 1994, NOT Michaels doing but Ross Brawn must have known, and the mechanics at risk during the pit-stops CERTAINLY found out the hard way, that if you can cheat you can win.
The 2011 Michael Schumacher is the cutest year yet, this one I am beginning to like, the old timer is doing ok.
In 2012 I'd like to see him on the podium.
In 2013 I'd like to see him replace Ross Brawn and become Team Principal, Michael has a lot to offer.

I actually could see him racing in 2013 given the recent employment of Mercedes of Wills and Costa.

if the 2012 car can get podiums then i dont see schumacher retiring tbh i reckon he could easily goto 2014 aslong as he atleast matchs his teammate

What Schu is doing for the Sport is beyond great. It means that we could watch&enjoy the FA/LH/SV etc for a looooong time if they have the determination and preperation of the Master himself.

Very good post. Of which I agree 100% with. I think in 2012 SCHU will outperform Nico with relative ease. Relative I say. I'll be sure to post back here if I'm wrong but I think Michael is getting back to himself and after a full year on the new tyres, along with a better MGP car for next year, we'll see him place higher than this year.

2 problems with this, Rosberg is darn good, I can't understand why his race performance is going down but he is still fast and he gets to the finish line. he is still currently faster than MS over a single lap and to say MS will beat him "with relative ease" is just nonsense. To add to that it's only going to take a minor turn around with whatever Rosberg's issue is to square them back up.

The other problem is the car, where are they going to find up to 2 seconds just to draw level with RBR/McLaren let alone get ahead - the worst thing team mates can do with a slower car is waste time fighting each other and keeping development secrets from each other so no advantages there either.

I expect them to bounce around between wins (over each other) between them while they try to get to the front, only then will you see what each other is truly capable against each other.

Would you care to enlighten me as to who these THEY are that talk the talk of a 7 time champion then? Maybe that way I'll be able to wrap my childish, infantile head around it.....

You could read what I said again to comprehend that I'm more bothered by why so many people act like a complete dick when entering into a conversation about things on the internet. Its impossible to be bold and brave whilst hiding remember. Just act more mature, act like you are chatting face to face not hidden behind your computer screen with a pea-shooter throwing insults whilst having run out of anything intelligent to say.
Its like throwing stones at the Lions in a zoo just because they're in a cage. It brings the very very worst out of some individuals just because they suddenly feel more secure and misinterpret that as power.

Well I would like to see that too, but then there is the Prost precedent which tells you that while you might be good in one thing, that doesn't follow it will trangess accross all lines. Michael being a good team manager is possible, but not guaranteed, especially when he is I think already on the record that he was not interested (while with Ferrari). He would need to be Ross's assistant for two or three years, before he could jump in as a lead.

I could see him being groomed by Mercedes for succession to N. Haug, one day later on.

So what you are saying is that people on this forum talk the talk of a 7 time champion and that they are complete dicks (unlike yourself of course). I mean how does one talk the talk of a 7 time champion? Does he or she walk around quoting him? I'm still trying to wrap my childish and infantile (your quotes stone thrower) head around this. Best get off the moral high horse kid and join the rest of us, remember....let he who is without sin cast the first stone.....

Is this the same type of place(pink part) where Massa broke suspension twice?

About the Benetton, I guess they were in shock when they start working with Alesi and Berger. Not in the good way. When they saw the difference between them and MS. What they say, in 1997 they still teach them how to work with engineers? New seat in Monaco? What a joke.

Kind of runs parallel with the posters in this thread.

Yup, anyone who thought that world championship winning F1 teams put intelligent, knowledgeable engineers on their pitwall is a fool! they just let hobo's and junkies up there :rotfl:

Remind me again, between Flavio and the pitwall engineer, which one was banned from F1 for cheating?

Just received the newest Sport Bild issue.
Michael extended his contract untill 2013. It was already agreed at Singapur, he has a clause that allows him to take an option for 2014 or stepping in as an advisor for example from there on.
Reading the article, it looks like him and Clear get along very nicely and it seems like he´ll stay on Michael´s side of the garage next year too.

I get the sense that Jock Clear is a fella that is very passionate about the driver that he is associated with. He was always backing up Jacques Villeneauve and Rubens Barachello. Now he is a strong support for MS. I find that interesting looking at the past. But, the chap is loyal.

Wow, I would like a second confirmation. I was always suspecting he might choose to stay active some more, but I thought we would hear about it only in incoming months. If true, that will clear calendar for many hopefuls. On my part I will be elated once confirmed on MGP site.

Which will take him to 45. If he is still totally fit I can see him going to 47 - same age as Fangio retired.

Glad to see it's obviously a great passion for him, no other reason for him to be there.

Well this is fantastic news!! I'm absolutely delighted

I see no reason for MS not to continue if he can keep going as he has been since Canada. If he was getting worse or showing poorly in races then I would have reservations, but his races have been pretty strong lately.

Although I doubt Michael will race at the front again, I am still enjoying his racing for 5th places - I know some might sneer at this. But the way I see it its the best he can realistically do with the machine and he really does look up for the fight at the moment. Even when it goes a bit wrong (or a bit 'Singapore) at least he is still trying his hardest to get great positions, and even though sometimes frustrating I'm enjoying him being there.

Rarely is a race dull with Schumi in it!

In fact I think that if he was 26 Michael would be something of a cult figure, rather like Kobayashi. He clearly isn't performing in quali, and has had some silly crashes, but he is making a lot of overtakes and has shown some strong races. Although I honestly wouldn't call Schumi WDC material any more (prove me wrong Michael!) I very much believe he is worth a place on the grid for a few more years on performance alone. If his age and name weren't relevant, given that he and Nico are very evenly matched on points and generally race finishing position justifies this.

I agree, but if he can sort out his qualy issues and gets a better car next year I think he can challenge for podiums. If anything he has shown that he is still one hell of a racer.

To quote Sebastian Vettel, "Michael really knows how to make his car wide."

I thought that about racing at the front. But he has been at pace at times with Hamilton, Massa etc at points while in a much worse car. I have no doubt he's top 3 on the grid at wheel to wheel racing, so i don't see why not if the car's good.

I tend to agree. I don't want to get my hopes up, but given similar performing machinery, I don't see why MS can't take the fight to the other top dogs. If not he'd surely be able to pick up the pieces when mistakes are made ahead of him.

Yeah, but also the same guys to anounce Michael's return to F1 1 day before it was anounced by MS/Merc...

Anyway, if true, this would be the best news since his comeback. Would hate it if Rosi would profit from Aldo Costa's talent and MS not in 2013 (because of retirement).

Urawa, if you could provide us with a scan of that article, that would be great :)

His phyiscal age is way younger then his passport age. You know with the lack of testing, he's got more time to dedicate to fitness then he did in the 90s, plus more time to rest between races, it's not like 1998 where he was on the go/testing/gp/testing/gp/catching a flight, ferrari only got extra test drivers after he won the title in 2000, he gets to see his family more now. It works out fine for him, and Brundle was commenting in the last race just what immense condition Schumacher is in.

He's fired up, means business, in 2010 alot of doubts were around which I understand, this year he's made believers of non believers of his performance/fitness/dedication, had the Mercedes been a second faster, or half a second faster in the races this year, there would of been some interesting dicussions other then 4th places, fingers crossed for a fruitful 2012 car.

If 2013 is for sure, that means Schuey will race in New York, that'll be cool.

As much as I've dislike Bild: they were always very close to the Schumacher clan, since the Willi Weber times. At times I had the impression that they had a deal with Schumacher to exclusively announce big news first.

Yup! He already has more cash than many countries in Europe

Mate I spent more cash on my lunch today than some Euro countries have got.

When I say MS may go to 47 I mean it as a record equalizer to Fangio. I have no proof of that in any way of course nor for the other thing that I believe might be a personal target - 100 GP wins.

"8 WDC's" has little meaning really.

BTW at this point in time has won 92 of 847 = 11%. That's 11% of all of the entire Grand Prixs ever run in the entire history of F1.

If he doesn't win a race in 2012 or 2013 this figure may tragically drop to only 10% of all of the entire Grand Prixs ever run in the entire history of F1. ;)

Thanks Urawa even if it is not official, it made my day. It will be amazing to see him again making his team a winner team.
