I was at that race at Magny-Cours and he molested the entire field that day.

I'm sure W01 diffuser picture is going to be out soon. I think one of the photographers was at the right spot to take that picture.

Would I be stretching if I said I see that as an example of the traits that have made Schumacher the most successful driver ever? Attention to detail, leaving nothing to chance, etc. I've never seen a driver do that, or at least never noticed/remembered another driver doing that.

Given I'm life-long Schumy fan...that'd be a yes

I was also there in 2002 when he won his 5th title (rather emotional moment as he stopped his car right in front of me) and again in 2006 when he raped Alonso sideways.

I also felt the same thing! And that's one of the reason I posted the link here! Because most of the time other drivers just leave the scene and let the marshals take care of the car but Schumi himself wants to look after the car. Here in this video Schumi leaves from the scene only after the car is put on a crane safely and is also on it's way back.

Thanks for those, brilliant! BTW was anyone else amazed how refreshed Schumi looked post race interview, I mean he had just competed for 2 hours in one of the hottest races of the year and he looked like he had just had a stroll in the park?! Especially given how one Lewis's reason's for being down (according to DC) was that it was a hard race!

Michael's not doing badly since the Barcelona updates. In the last three races, without his penalty in Monaco the scores would be the following:

Webber 65
Hamilton 35
Vettel 33
Schumacher 32
Alonso 28
Button 28
Kubica 27
Massa 26
Rosberg 14

He's back to business which is easily proven by the reoccuring theories about him getting the better car / for his style tailored car / Rosberg being sabotaged etc.

Nah, he was always like that - story goes around that on his jog route he comes back past his house and that his dog who runs with him has to be taken in the house and then he continues his jog other wise his dog may actually suffer he goes so far and so fast!

At his peak he was tested as one of the world fittest sportsman.

I am happy that he didn't let himself dragged into RB/Turkey contraversy, taking sides (in contrast to some other big mouth that is driving for McLaren).

Who is a big mouth? Button or Hamilton?

It was always Schumacher's speciality to pull his "pranks" behind closed curtains. Not that they were less controversial because of that.
Not to speak of the open displays of his personality.

Thanks for sharing.

Good to see Jacques. It definitely brought Schumacher some good will among Canadian fans to hang out with Jacques and to make this statement. It even brought Schumacher some good will from me!

What was the occasion of their getting together? Some promotion?
The CAA is the Canadian Auto Association, I presume. What is eSafety exactly? Who is the yellow guy posing with Jacques and Michael?

Good publicity stint for the CAA!

The yellow guy is a crash test dummy and eSafety is electronic safety technologies that are readily available in passenger vehicles. But more precisely, technologies that help you avoid a crash, not those that protect in the event of one.

I am wondering if Michael has taken advantage of the track layout, and attempted speed trials to benchmark the car. Implications are, that he might have run light, which would be actually deviation how he usually prepares for the weekend. FP2 should confirm this one way or another. Otherwise I was happy for him.

edit: table is out, he was only 13th; whoa, yet he put a such good lap together...

Amazing how quiet this thread is when MS is doing well.....

Should be good race for him, he was always a more 'downforce and give up a bit of top speed' setup'erer so this should be on his side with all the tyre graining problems lots are having (more downforce, less graining).

If he qualy's in the top 5, I expect he will stay out longer for the first stint and actually lead for a bit until his first stop - a real chance for a podium depending on top 5 qualy.

Yep made a mistake, he was quick enough but unfortunatly made a mistake, shit happens now let's see what tomorrows race will bring but it will be very hard to get to the front if it's a complete dry race. Considering the topspeed the mercedes cars have been showing.

Just saw the last few seconds of Q2. A little bit of a surprise to see Schumacher struggle on this track as it's was one of his best. Very bad time for another bad weekend as he will probably struggle in Valencia as he has never been there before and he has never really excelled in Silverstone.

Well I suppose at least he'll start on the harder compound for the race. Its hard to find anything else positive
