vettel is not dominating our sport, look at china,
he dominated the first two races, and also just in qualy.

You know what I mean. If Vettel has two victories and one second place after three rounds, he is dominating indeed at the moment... could change from the next race though.

if you split a season into 2-3 races, than look at last year, there were phases where different drivers dominated, but i wouldnt go so far to say, that those drivers were dominating our sport. it is also a conglomerate of some factors.
till know vettel was just the rb driver who managed to drive better than webber, although china can be called a intern team mistake when looking at webber.

:rotfl:

Three races... Three poles... Two victories and one second place... And you say he's not dominating... :drunk:

And wait... Turkey is almost there and it looks like more of the same... Time will tell.

I can understand some Alonso Tifosi are still shocked about what happened last year but please, give us a break and show some respect to other people in this forum... We are not dummies. :rotfl:

1. i said his and red bulls qualy pace is outstanding (not so much in malaysia)

He wasnt although beating better car with his worse car on track, now was he? He beat Vettels Red Bull which was parked on some safe-area, yes - but so did every other car which finished the race, including lotus, Hispania and Virgin drivers (given that they finished that particular race were Vettel DNFd due to mech.fail.) but in what race did Alonso beat a properly working RedBull of Vettel by his sheer talent? I dont seem to remember a one single time he did that, do you?

Singapore.

Just before qualy Ferrari on official twitter said "Vettel will be hard to beat here".

After the race Ferrari confirmed that they hadn't the fastest car there.

Domenicali also said this: http://www.thisislon...nando-alonso.do

Please will everyone just stop discussing other posters. If you do not like what other posters have to say, use the ignore function or just avoid the thread.

Also, this is not a thread about Kimi.

Let's strike a deal: we will give you a break and try to forget what happened last year if you give us a break and forget about what happened in 2009 - we are no dummies either! :p

Nice job by Fernando to split the Mclarens. Hopefully things will fall his way during the race.

One positive for Ferrari and Alonso is that their tyres seemed to hang on longer than most in China... so long as they know when to pit this time!

Give Alonso some credit. Nearly matching Massa┬┤s time on the soft, when driving on the hard tires in Q1 was a strong drive.

Not a Vettel fan by a long shot, but if winning 5 out of last 7 races isn't dominating then I don't really know what is. At the same time, his teammate has managed only 3 podiums, and 0 victories.

It's amusing how some Alonso fanboys try to belittle achievements of every other driver on grid. We've seen it with Raikkonen, Hamilton, Button and now with Vettel. At the same time I didn't hear a single criticism of Alonso driving, his inconsistency and his mistakes from those 'fans'.

In the two he didn't win, he was leading when his engine blew and the other he finished 2nd.

True, true. And the Macca guys should wear apple bright and high heels this time so Button won't be confused by the "matching" blue navy colors of the RB guys :p

Not so sure that was a mistake, I think he wanted a new front wing. :cat:

Cool story bro, you've discovered that people can be biased. Like if that didn't happen at anyother thread related to anyother driver.

And well, I think 5th on the clean side may be nice for tomorrow. Honestly I'd rather see Alonso starting first or second but well, could be worse.

Excellent job by Fernando, and good work by the boys and girls back in Maranello. Together, they cut in half the performance advantage Red Bull had in qualifying, and even moreso from McLaren. If they can continue the trend of their race pace advantage, and if Fernando doesn't lose positions at the start (BIG IF!), a victory for the Prancing Horse is not out of the question! Can't wait for all the new updates to make their way onto the car!

I am surprised by how off the pace Felipe is, considering how well he goes in Istanbul and given all the technical problems Fernando had. Here's to hoping he has a better race!

A good qualifying session for Alonso and Ferrari, the same position as every other race this season but the gap to those in front has been cut. He has also destroyed Massa for pace at Massa's best track. If he keeps that up today expect a new article from Mark Hughes next week about 'how Alonso found his mojo again' aka how to jump to ridiculous conclusions based on one race.
As for the start - don't know if I can bear to watch it. Please let's at least maintain position for turn 1 and from there anything is possible!

It would be very nice if Alonso catches the podium today and dedicates it to his fellow countryman Seve Ballesteros

By the way, I am from the same region than the great Seve, Cantabria in northern Spain. You british loved him, I appreciate it.

Very sad what happened.

We miss you Seve.

Brillant race, driver of the race with "that car", I can't believe tha he was "almost" on 2nd. Come on Ferrari, Fernando only needs a better car, only a little.

Great drive by Alonso, and as I though Ferrari's sweetness on it's tyres really paid off with the sensible strategy today. A little bit more performance and they will be right there, but Vettel and Red Bull are going to be hard to catch in the championships.

Rookie mistake by Alonso not to jump out of his F150 and onto the magical unicorn during the last pitstop. This "lost opportunity" will teach him for not achieving the impossible :smoking:

Great drive by Alonso....I wonder what would have happened if Ferrari hadn't covered the Webber stop - a stop takes 17+ seconds, and Alonso had about 2.5 (iirc) on MW - could Mark have made up the 20 seconds in the last 10 odd laps? It would have been a close run thing....

Anyway - not complaining - great race!

It did seem a good drive. If Ferrari continues to progress, Alonso will deliver, but he is very far back.
