This is what champions do. They keep themselves in contention when the chips are down.

Fantastic race.

A little gutted for Checo though.

WDC leader? it's like a dream, time to react Ferrari. Alonso talent is out of the charts, still people wil moan and bitch, a sign of Fernandos talent.

28 wins.

A great performance by FA. Minute and a half ahead of Whiner.

Shame about that tiny mistake by Checo - it would´ve been nail-biting.

I kicked F1 2011 codemaster butt on legend level with Force India.

I want Alonso level on game. :smoking:

Gratz Alonso, you will be very missed when you retire,a legend for me.

To win a race in such POS of car is more than amazing!! I am speecless! Fantastic pace in the wet/semidry conditions and being faster than Hamilton in the 2012 fastest car is pure magic!

Be honest, do you lot rate that higher than MS in Spain 96?
Similar circumstances, sort of similar weather, unexpected win

Last 3 victories in rainy/changeable conditions - Korea 2010, Silverstone 2011, Malaysia 2012.

Perhaps it's been this one in which he had the most inferiour car.

 Wow fantastic. He and the team are working great. Now, just the F2012 needs to get there. I cannot believe that he is championship leader though, and going into china, where they expect a big improvement, I wanna say it looks good.

Race pace on drys was very goo d, only Perez was much faster, but he was much faster than everybody.it was comparable with Hamilton, but I think Webber looked the best on slicks

I didn't, but that move was key to Fernando taking the victory. We know Perez was quicker and faster on the straight, so if Alonso doesn't make that stick it's "Game Over!"

Well Done!

You know, it is not even amazing when Alonso bags it up like he did today. It just superb business as usual.

But he needs to lose that stupid Hitler 'stache on his chin.

Yeah, but I don't expect him to shave it off now... not when he's just managed to take that unpredictable mid-pack Ferrari into the WDC points lead.

Fernando shows again why he is the best driver on the grid; winning in a car that is off the pace of true frontrunners. Imagine what he could do with the fastest car on the grid. He shows he doesn't need the fastest car. If Ferrari can manage to update the car & it's within a couple or a few tenths from the MaCa or RB or whoever, he can win the 2012 WDC.

Absolutely brilliant drive today. Sure the conditions helped, but you can always count on Alonso to use his talents and skill to get the best possible result.
Just please, Ferrari, give this guy a competitive car!

I don't understand the comparison bet: ferrari 96 vs ferrari 2012 in this race.

For me there is no comparison. Alonso was very good today, but schumacher in 96 was another beast. He lapped nearly the entire field didn't he?

Also I believe the 96 ferrari was a bigger dog than the current one.

Well, why don't you compare apples to apples.

2012 Alonso in an inferior Ferrari car vs. Michael Schumacher in a monster superior Mercedes?

Yeah, I would agree. Although that is like being second to usain bolt in a sprint race, thee is no shame, as it was as good as any drive apart from Spain 96

I am a huge Raikkonen fan and have always maintained that he is one of the quickest drivers on the grid but Alonso, well, he's just pure class.

Fantastic drive from him today, I felt Ferrari got the calls right and in the wet, the car was quicker than the others but he made some great passes and then simply drove away from the rest. In a field with supposed rain masters, Alonso simply rubbished those claims, grabbed the race by the scruff off the neck and dragged that Ferrari to the top of the podium. Some say Perez would have passed if not for that mistake but I beg to differ, 2nd race in a row where someone is chasing Alonso and they make a mistake.

The guy simply oozes class and if Ferrari want a WDC, they need to give him everything he wants because if he has the equipment, he'll show everyone else up. Vettel a 2xWDC. Haa! He has nothing on Fernando!

Great drive today by Alfonso, but it is likely the first and the last win for Ferrari this season. F2012 in dry conditions is crap compared to Macca and RB. No chance for WDC.
