New blog entry.

http://www.ferrari.c...days-ahead.aspx

Better to have the source than journalist quoting the source.

I've always been an admirer of Fernando's talent, which was patently obvious, even in a Minardi. But, JV was my favorite driver after Senna died, and the respect and warmth Fernando showed to Villeneuve during their brief time together, is what cinched him as my new favorite once Jacques left.

Fernando is a class act...not perfect...but an absolutely classy champion! Now go get the pole in Barcelona in this revised F2012, and announce to the world that Ferrari are BACK! ;)

Monza 2011 springs to mind. spa 2007 also. when alonso is fighting for a championship, his respect goes out the window. anyway clever tactic, to tar other drivers whilst preaching a wish for purity.

:drunk: Alonso is drinking too much water :drunk:

Fernando praises yesterday drivers for the respect they had in each other, because their cars were fragile.
Of course he hasn't seem Gilles vs Arnoux on Youtube :p

Really? That's interesting, would you care to explain why? :)

I'm personally really enjoying seeing this new side of him, but I do know some Alonso fans who preferred him to be more of the serious/mysterious 'mean' guy.

normally the drivers arrives later than the team members , and also they have different modes of transport for example he would go to the airport with at least a car and a driver hired for him , and i assume drivers fly business class or this is not the case ?

New side? He was always like that.

Yes, most of the time. But in case of the Ferrari drivers, they usually fly with the team when they are in Italy. And some of them have private jets, I know Alonso has one.

We'll see who laughs when Ferrari decides to extend Massa's contract.

You are obviously under the false assumption that Alonso fans want to see Felipe do bad. This is not the case. The majority of fans want Felipe to do well. If he would perform better obviously the team would do better in the WCC. Yes Felipe has done better the past two GP's but he hasn't performed at Fernando's level at all this year. Hopefully this changes and he drives like the Felipe of old. Ferrari extending his contract will not make Alonso fans angry as you seem to think.

IMO, this shows that anyone hoping for Alonso to get angry and up and leave is all rubbish. Him and his team is basically family, although it could turn sour, it just looks like a perfect match.

That is certainly a far cry from this. http://www.youtube.c...be_gdata_player

Just look at the adulation.

It is mind boggling....

I think Fernando is so popular that he could run for the Presidency in Spain and win! :D

I like many others have had a real eye opener to Fernando since following him on Twitter, what a guy, maximium respect to him! Ferrari are lucky to have him driving the team, through these difficult times, though how long he will put up with the uncompetivness remains to be seen.

Really, this guy is brilliant...

Q. (Mike Doodson – Honorary) Gentlemen, Michael Schumacher persistently criticises the Pirelli tyres, or at least the policy of Pirelli. To us and the fans it's clear that Pirelli has been a major ingredient in the improvement of the quality of the racing this year and last year. Do any of you share Michael's concerns about the tyres or do you think he's just making excuses for not winning?

FA: I think Seb should answer, being German.

Actually Jenson Button and Mark Webber are very good on Twitter - Webber is a bit better than Alonso - that may change as Alonso is new to the twitter thing.

I think after the preliminary posts we can see a trend here, the way / style these drivers are posting. Both three are very likeable on several social media, I have to say, it's fun to read and see their posts already :)

Fernando is on the clean side of the track.
He always does good starts this year.
He is in Spain, he will get this little extra motivation.

And, above all the rest, the Ferrari is fast and consistent on longer stints.

It will be good, tomorrow!

Well done to Fernando and Ferrari, particularly to Stefano and Pat Fry who've been facing so much pressure and criticism.

Great Job to them and the Team, and thanks for sticking with your beliefs about what would work best for the F2012 despite the slings and arrows coming from all the former pitlane experts and internet gurus. This P3 must be especially satisfying!

He has a huge chance to claw back some points against the favourites. It's unbelievable how he has had the opportunity to stay in contention. I hope the Ferrari is genuinely quick now so we have another title contender.

Perhaps not that quick. Fernando made a good point after qualifying saying that Button and Webber having caught out, he had an easier job to get P3, but I for one didn't expect him to be ahead of the Lotii, so there is clearly good progress on the car. It just not a true P3 qualifying car IMHO at the moment. I love watching Alonso wring the neck of the car to put together clean, fast laps though. I hope we can see him total four championships before he decides to retire, and yes, I know he does not have the third yet.

Yeseveryone tripping over themselves (as well as Alonso constantly getting the best result from the car) has worked out a treat and it wouldn't surprise me if he leaves tonight as leader or a close 2nd (maybe behind Vettel)

If Fernando can jump Pastor in the first corner and build a gap while the Lotuses hits some trouble I think we have a genuine chance of taking the victory today! Would be great to see Felipe up there in the points as well but I think it will be though for him..

Hoping the lower temperatures today helps our tyre management!

Forza Ferrari! Forza Alonso! Forza Massa!

Too bad, the victory was so close, but I think he is 0 points behind the leader of the WDC, with all that happen to the team so far, this is like a dream.

We just didn't have the traction in the last corner to get Maldanado on the straight which ruined our tyres but this is still a great result as Alonso is now joint leader in the WDC! Things will just keep going up from here now in terms of the cars performance aslong as Ferrari can keep improving the pace and parts in the next races.
