Could you imagine Alonso on the RB7? The superiority-boredom would be so huge that he might do mistakes like Senna in Monaco in '88

A fast car alone is not enough.. I think people underestimate the difference a good team(strategy and pit stops) can make.
McLaren and Lotus are faster than Ferrari, but where are they?

Or might have been the first time someone gets all the poles and all the wins in a season? :rotfl:

Yeah I can imagine him losing the title on countback to Vettel (if Vettel was his teamamte) :)

Please, they're tied in points while Vettel has the car that leads the standings and Alo the 4th

It would be interesting. Alonso is getting so much praise now he drives a "not so" bad car. I'll wait until that happens with Vettel to make a judgement on who's better. So far, Alonso is more complete.

Massa scoring nothing may ve to do a lot with that.
Anyway - I was joking and drawing a parallel to 2007 (in case u missed that) - so relax.

Alonso is a great driver and recent races have re-inforced that but to claim he would do a clean sweep in RB7 was a bit too much.
BTW - as a Seb fan , the only driver I would be worried about as a teammate for him would be Alonso !

Or you want to suggest that they spend 50% of their time during Practice sessions to help MAS?

do you remember who got more days at the Mugello testing?

I can't talk about % but I'm pretty sure that they spend Massa's FP time (when he is done with the testing programme) to figure his problems and also to prepare for the race/quali. I doubt they use his time to test more parts or to "improve" Alonso's setup. Plus the time they spend in the factory.

I'm pretty sure we agree in everything, the only thing I wanted to say is that Felipe is not abandoned like a dog with fleas. There is a reason why Alonso tested one more day, and is pretty obvious

Agree - right now he may be the best driver on the grid.

Vettel or Hamilton or some young hotshot may have a chance to match that in the future.

Fernando did an awesome job this weekend. We all know tyres are very important and Fernando had used tyres versus Maldonado's new tyres. Huge difference right there and shows just how good Fernando was this weekend.

in the future? lol.. they are already faster now if you ask me.. Alonso performance was not perfect in Bahrain(or China i don't remember), his win in Malaysia was thanks to a good strategy and a decent pace but Perez running second has proved it was not something out of this world.

his performances this year are being flattered because of the many mistakes(Lotus and McLaren in particular are doing) and the non perfect RB. Ferrari is not that bad like "you" want us to believe.
Anyway i'm not going to break the mood here. . :p ;)

Faster maybe - but not better !
Whatever Massa 's issues may be , Alonso is the only driver who is thrashing the teamamte that bad.

While teammate benchmarking may be riddled with problems , thats the only thing we have to rank drivers.

Anyway - if you bothered to read the whole conversation , I wasnt exactly celebrating the mood in here.

It's your opinion.. and i'm happy to disagree with you..
Alonso like Button has never been the fastest driver on saturday, so it's easy to qualify their sunday performance as straordinary when then come from the back to win or gain a few places.

I'm aware there are not so many members here who will agree on this, so it's fair if you think i'm talking non sense.

Massa is hopeless.

Massa is not half as hopeless as Hamilton was last year ;) It's not fair to judge him without knowing the true extent of his problems. Or maybe the bigger picture.. Ferrari would sack him on the spot, if he was as bad as you think he is.

Comparing Alonso with Button is hopeless when it comes to Qualifying. Alonso will easily take pole given the right machinery. No driver on the grid can take pole in a 'lesser' car. Not even Mr. Vettel, who in my opinion is the best qualifier.

Williams and Sauber are better than the Ferrari looking at what Maldonado and Perez have achieved with that car right?
Fortunately i thnk with my head and i don't need to follow the followers. ;)

Anyway i will not kill myself if Alonso win a 3rd WDC.. I'm not a "hater" if you know what i mean.. i just think he is not what people(pundits included) think he is.

I'd bloody hope so, he has driven over 100 more races and has probably driven 50,000km more than Seb in an F1 car and in all sorts of cars (top, midfield, crap). I don't think there's much between them (and a couple of others) at the relative point in their careers.

This season is making it easier for the really good drivers to stand out, if they have 2 or 3 tenths on simply a 'good' teammate, then that may mean they're front 2 rows while their teammates are midpack. Last year, Massa could afford to be half second shy of alonso and they'd be 5th and 6th. Now they're 3rd and 17th

+ Alonso has the car totally tailored to his wishes. This is where Massa's problems come from...

An LOL - everyone ignores this fact .

This makes no sense.

At the start of the season, the car was a complete mess. Improvements made since then are general in nature and designed to improve downforce and stability. You can only look to make optimisations that suit one driver over another once you have a solid car in the first place.

Alonso has been fantastic in the first five races and has got the best results possible for him and the team.
Massa's problems (and no doubt he has major problems) come from elsewhere.

I think Fred's openness has gone a long way to endear him to some who thought he was cold and aloof.

Never really liked Fernando when he was at renault. As big Schumacher fan I rooted against him, but with his arrival at ferrari my respect for him as person and driver went up. He seems to be nice guy, with the same dedication as Michael. His biggest strength is his consistency (How on earth is he on the first place? - pure magic) and in a season where everbody can win a race the key to win the championship. McLaren will skrew up Hamilton, Mercedes is far to inconsistent, only a german guy in a red bull can be the killjoy;)

60th anniversary of Ferrari first win in Monaco, 1952?.

There was no Championship race at Monaco in the years '51 through '54.

Despite that it was Ferrari first win in Monaco, even if the race was a non championship Race that year, isn't it?.

The car looks like a mid sixties F1 car (in the Nordschleife Karusell?).

The cars that finished 1-2-3-4-5 in Monaco 1952 were (privately entered) sports cars - it was a sports car event that year.

Fernando changed helmet designer this year. His helmet livery is designed and painted by Jens Münser Designs in 2012, the same company that creates Vettel's fancy designs. So I expect something really special in Monaco. :)

It's sort of printed like stickers (but very thin) and then applied above some hand painted shadows. Then clear coat and some pearl above to make it look realistic and painted :)
