I strolled past John Lepps shop in Altrincham yesterday. I wonder if he wants his old B8 front section back?

Dean did come and see me to explain the problems that they had encountered during the morning with the McLaren. He did say he would be back this week with some more very interesting cars including the McLaren if all goes to plan.

Fingers crossed then.........................

Appeared to go OK .. detected gear selection problems on occasion.
Took a while to get up to speed visually if you know what I mean. I was told that it has been delayed in its come back.
I'm moving in the direction of the track photo's at the moment. Never had this problem when it was 135-36 ! :drunk:

It is I believe, a real 1966 P3 and the non original mirrors mouunted on stalks seem to be mandatory in historics these days. Someone will know the rules?

IIRC the Ferrari is actually a 412P owned by Harry Leventis and run by Tim Samways Sporting & Historic Cars / Engineering Ltd. They refer to it as a P3 however.

Hi Giraffe!

Great morning at Mallory as always. Mrs Pullman99 thought it was a real hoot too.

Do you know the chassis number of the Tyrrell (002?) and for whom Rick Hall is running it? Hopefully the McLaren MP4-8 will be OK now for Goodwood. I understand that Bruno Senna is down to drive it. Really super to be around when they started it up. Quite made my day. Going to Goodwood on Saturday so hopefully catch up with some TNFrs then.

The car pictured is a Vixen Formula 4 from 1966 (I think). It's powered by a 750cc Triumph Bonneville engine and belongs to Sean Mooney. It was due to race with the 500cc F3 cars (as an experimental invitee) at Cadwell 2 weekends ago but didn't show.

The Tyrrell is indeed 002, but Hall & Hall will not tell me who the current owner is. Anyone out there know?

Down in the pits was a clutch of Vauxhall-Lotus cars, most of them ex-school cars apart from #10 pictured, which is infact an ex-Juan Pablo Montoya car!

It must be something to do with the low downforce front wing arrangement, or the drag from leaving the window open :)

Ok, there is an element of chance involved as you never know what is going to show up, but most Wednesday mornings I've attended would give Cholmondeley a run for it's money and many other 'events' also. You are up close to the cars and can talk to the guys driving and running them with no crowding at all, and get a very affordable mug of tea and bacon sandwich from the cafe. (The lunches look delicious too!) All for a recession busting £2 entrance fee! It's been the event of the summer for me so far.

Have to agree with Giraffe.I'm classed as "long term sick" according to HM Dept of WP at the moment and these Wednesday mornings really are keeping me going.
All in all its probably how I choose to remember my racing involvement from 20 + years ago.
