Thanks, RS. It helps to tidy up the thread which means it doesn't take as long to download for those folk who are still unable to access broadband.

No problem Alan - promise not to cock up again!!

It must be something to do with the low downforce front wing arrangement, or the drag from leaving the window open :)

At least i can boast about taking Gerards flat in top........

To be honest, with the corner weights done, pressures set and the correct front wing arrangement i reckon i could get within 107% of the Citroen 2CV pole time

Sponsorship packages can be tailored to suit :smoking:

The Lotus Elite must rank near the top of automotive styling exercises that have never aged - if a manufacturer produced a car like that now, I think all would admire it.

Lovely picture too.

This is a great thread. It prompted my appearance one Wednesday morning a little while back - which seems ages ago already. But what a morning!

I'm away now for a while, but certainly plan to get along in late August or September.

Keep the pictures coming chaps!!

The Tyrrell is indeed 002, but Hall & Hall will not tell me who the current owner is. Anyone out there know?

I believe that's the car they run for John Delane

I saw Delane race it at the Brands Hatch Masters Festival at the end of May (with a different nose cone fitted on that day)

Yes, it IS the John Delane car, Hall & Hall ran it at Brands this weekend from the same pit as Abba Kogan`s Warsteiner Arrows (ex Patrese) and Nico Bindell`s JPS Lotus (not sure on original driver there..).

Sausages... or was it burgers?

Fried eggs, mushrooms, two slices of toast and a pint of tea, I'd have thought. And all for about £2.50. The breakfasts would justify the trip even if there weren't any racing cars...

The newly formed TNF suite will be open tomorrow, i believe a 52 seater will be leaving a Manchester suburb at "sparrow's fart o'clock" in readiness for the day's activities.

As we have a two day Classic Bike Festival upcoming this weekend, it may be a quiet ish morning car wise but you never know what or whom may arrive.

Also, we had a fresh delivery to the Cafe from the butcher today so the usual plate full of half a pig and assorted trimmings will be in evidence no doubt.

Afternoon All.
A pleasant morning at Mallory turned into a TNF Midlands / North meeting ! Great to meet up with Messrs Rainford, Cox and Raine and Wayne ( Gatmo ) even laid on some much appreciated coffee in the control tower.
Here is a quick selection with lots more to follow later I'm sure.

Nice Lola called in briefly on its way to Le Mans.

The chassis number is SIX, not 5. Further, the 1993 Autocourse Annual confirms Senna's Monaco chassis as 6. The complete results for chassis 6 are as follows:

Spanish GP: P2
Monaco GP: P1
Canadian GP: Ret
French GP: P4
British GP: P5 (out of fuel at finish)
German GP: P4
Belgium GP: P4
Italian GP: Ret (Acc)

Spare car at:

Japan & Australia

The car was sold directly to the current owner by Ron Dennis represented as the 1993 Monaco winner.

Here's the chassis plate of this MP4-8, N° 5 ?

Is it a coincidence that at least four cars turned up that were either wholly brown, or had brown incorporated in their colour scheme? Or is it a Photoshop malfunction?

Surely the brown stripe on the blue Lola should be Filipinetti red? The top of the Mansell Benetton similarly red...
sorry what I meant to say, is on my monitor they are all cow pat brown. Something is very odd, from a couple of pages back, in Tony & Phil's photos of the Toj, the top is red, whereas yours Cyril, are a familiar brown :drunk:

The Toj red is the most noticeable because you can compare same car from 3 different cameras. I know the computer can make colours into something else, meaning say darker red helmet next to mid red cockpit can result in them looking colour matched
What also struck me, your photo of the Gitanes Lola blue part was just like your photo of the Matra MS120 blue part. I haven't looked at the other guys' photos to compare, but it could well be the same paint shade?
Don't worry though whatever you are doing it's consistent ;) Once you figure out what not to do, it will probably be perfect. Just off the top of my head, perhaps the screen settings of your pc aren't optimised. I'm a "don't really know for sure" sorry

No worries - I 'm still getting used to this digital thing and am probably still scared of "over Photoshopping".

Cyril , I right click saved one of your pics and when viewed on Photoshop CS it looked like the true colours,

but on Windows picture viewer and camedia it looked like the pics on the forum. I re-saved it a gif and

it appears to be the true colours as above ^

Anyhow, thanks to you and everyone who has posted pics on this great thread. Cheers Ian

Good to meet Cyril and Wayne yesterday and great to see Mallory Park is still going strong. My first visit in nearly 20 years and although a few trees have disappeared and some more modern buildings have replaced the ageing race control complex it still retains the friendly feel it always had :)

A most enjoyable first visit with Messrs Rainford and Raine, in spite of the small number of participants. We were made most welcome by Wayne (Gatmo), and it was nice to catch up, once again, with Cyrilmac.
Sadly, my photos reflect the shots already posted by others, so I shall refrain from boring you all further. IMHO the M4A is just the neatest F2 car. FYI, the Cooper T59 was driven by Simon Armer.

I was sorry to miss the TNF meeting at Mallory yesterday, but it was sod's law that the turnout of cars would be thin. With Goodwood & Brands the previous weekend, it was hardly surprising, but with the Silverstone Classic looming, things are bound to pick up........ :cat:

David Coplowe's car is M4A/2, which he has owned for 15 years+ and which he has raced in HSCC and FORCE races over the years. The Donington car is/was painted red and purported to be M4A/1.

Thanks for ALL the comments and assistance chaps. Interestingly both of the images that you've posted appear garishly blue on my Formac display!
I'll do a recalibration over the next few days. All colour images from where ever appear the same as mine on screen.
I'll also take the dreaded Grey Card with me next week !!
