A day of superb light for photography, although the wind was verging on arctic.

Are modern drivers all bigger than when these cars were new?

At the meeting on Sunday Wayne explained that the was a connection between Jordan ( the glamour model ) and the grass on the outside of Gerrards......

.... but I suggest the explanation needs to be over a few pints in the pub :rotfl:

Might it be similar to :- ...semi-recumbant, on the tussy grass, draws on the deck, shell-pink... ?

All guesses re Jordan are wide of the mark at the moment i'm afraid.

The name is actually given to a certain area of grass at Gerards, the shape of which should assist any further guesses........

A fine & mild Wednesday morning at Mallory was particularily quiet but not without interest. No Wayne, Cyril, Phil or anyone else for that matter though....

Mr & Mrs Hadfield were having a morning out together, swapping Elva & Royale RP24 and chasing each other round until Mrs H. ran out of brakes at the hairpin and stuffed the Elva. Nobody hurt however. (& yes, that green car in the background is what you think it is! Even Simon was flabbergasted!)

I had it in my plans to be there until the dreaded virus struck me down on Tuesday. At least I managed to make it to the film scanner today; sod the report my boss is waiting for! ;)

Thanks for the update Mr Giraffe.

Couldn't make it my 17th Wednesday morning at Mallory yesterday, but the day dawned fine and bright just as the 16 I attended this season had, amazingly!
I heard that Rob Hall ventured out in the Thinwall Special from the Donington Collection, but it seems there were no TNFers present to take pics?
That's it for the season then, and a very big thankyou to Wayne (Gatmo) Pearson for starting this thread and re-awakening us all to a hidden gem!

Just to sign off on that - nobody at imageshag or even your goodselves has offered a reason or a fix ( a computer term ,I believe, despite your best efforts) as to why my photo's should have that discolour ! Thank you for your help though.
To say I,d like to see you all and enjoy myself as much next year is an understatement.Thank you ALL new freinds and old - it was like I' never been away.

I'm afraid the planned test day on Wednesday 22nd Dec has been cancelled due to the freezing conditions.

Plum Pudding meeting 26 Dec is obviously subject to weather conditions...........

See you next year folks and have an enjoyable Christmas break! :)

My itinerary for the 2010 season ran as follows:

19 grands prix
HSCC meetings at Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park, Mallory Park and Oulton Park
Four other clubbies (Oulton Park, Donington Park and two at Brands Hatch)
The Goodwood Revival
A Prescott hillclimb
The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power
The Mazda MX-5 anniversary race at Adria
One banger meeting at Wimbledon
One Mallory Park test session

The latter was just as enjoyable as anything else on the list - and included the world's best-value breakfast as a worthwhile optional extra...

One Mallory Park test session

That said, I had a quite wonderful morning and only work commitments prevented me from attending again and, indeed, from getting to a meeting for the first time since 1962.

All the best, Wayne - very much look forward to seeing you and all the other TNFers in 2011.

3-4 inches of snow fall overnight made the general test session very tricky today, quickest overall was the Benford dumper with a 2m35.24 followed by the oversteering Manitou [with large loading bucket] at 2m36.59. The hot favourite was our fwd Fiat van but unfortunately an excursion [unplanned] across the rallycross track at Gerards Exit harmed its chances somewhat.... :)

I would imagine Rob Hall in thermals, parka & muffler! Is it my imagination or is the season starting particularily early this year? The Oulton Masters is only 3 weeks off & yet it's 9 weeks yet to go to Easter!?!? Brrrrr!

I'm afraid the Gatmofeed is currently unavailable but you can usually rely on Hall & Hall to pitch up with something interesting. I don't know if Simon Hadfield and his merry men have come out of hibernation yet?
