A brisk fresh morning for my first appearance of the year at Wednesday morning testing. Very pleased to see Messrs Rainford, Cox & Robinson in attendance in addition to the Shelbourne Bros. who most kindly stood a round of coffee's & chocky bars! Thanks guys!

Mike Wilds was out in this March 761. Colin Bennett who's boys were running it for owner Abba Kogan told me it was 761/5, but I suspect not....

I last saw this livery on Monaco resident Peter Dunn's 761. No-one was able to identify this autograph on the car either.....

Rob Hall was out in this Matra MS670, one of six Matra sportscars that Abba Kogan now owns!

Mrs. Hadfield was circulating in this lovely French owned ex-David Prophet Lotus 23( -5- 65), a car with a continuous history. The Lotus 23 in the background is 5 - 93.

The Merlyn was there Alan (It's in that last pic), but not the Royale. They are at the Masters test day at Donington tomorrow, however.

Today at Mallory - Pretty good weather and definitely not as cold as recent weeks, I am reliably informed. Pretty fair turnout of testers and a small handful of TNFers - Pullman99, Phil Rainford and Giraffe.

Here is TNFer Elanman (Nick Adams), vehicle development manager at Lotus, keeping it in the family with his beautifully restored Lotus 23 (23 S 93) - ex-Dr Bill Molle with a West Coast history. First time out after completion was at Hethel last year, but today was its first track outing since restoration.

Barely a week goes by without the sound of a Matra V12 shattering the Kirkby Mallory calm - Very welcome it is, too.

I will be at Donington tomorrow Cyrilmac. Am leaving Hebden Bridge in my trusty old Merc at 0720 and stopping for a quick bacon butty on my way in. Will be mooching about from mid morning. Have arranged to `bump` into Girraffe at some point so maybe will get to meet some of the `contributors` on here in the flesh at last (already met Tony at Donington revived)....can`t wait!

The March 761 I assume is the same car Peter Dunne ran last year? Abba certainly has a few cars at the moment and it's great to see he let's them excercice!

Talking with Julian Bronson yesterday, he tells me that he has liberated a Scarab from a museum and the engine is nearing completion of a rebuild, at which point he will be bringing it down to Mallory on a Wednesday morning!

Abba Kogan has six of the Matra sportscars, a couple of their Grand Prix cars and also a couple of Ligier-Matra F1s. Maybe we could petition him to come down to Mallory with then all at once and start them all up simultaneously, maybe on Bastille Day?!?!

Indeed, it is the unraced car from Donington. It has been a long-held desire of his to own a front-engined GP car - should suit his style admirably.

Foggy/misty morning today but F1 and sports endurance cars well represented. Mike Wilds in a Williams, Hall and Hall had Tyrell 002, Lammers' Shadow and two gorgeous sounding Matras, a sports prototype and an MS120(C?) Formula 1 car, looked like a Chris Amon era car. Sid Taylor's T70 was going very well seemed to have loads of grip, Simon Hatfield driving I think. A Benneton F1 car, don't know the driver but a V10 which sounded great when the traction control wasn't cutting in. Also a Chevron F3 car in Derek McMahon colours and an Aston Martin Project car.
Do Wednesday mornings get any better?
