Nicely done Tony. Looks like I missed another good 'un !

A Spartan crew of TNFers that (apart from Mike) amounted to myself & thebullet / Matthew with a cameo appearance from RS250 / Ian. A most enjoyably relaxed morning!

I would like to apologise to all those of a nervous disposition who were upset by the sight of me in all my early morning splendour; it gave me a nasty shock as I looked to see if Mr Messer and the Vesey had been posted by Tony. Motto: Never trust a Giraffe with a camera.

Mike is one of the unsung heroes of British motor sport, a true enthusiast & it was great to see him at Mallory today. Keith seemed very happy with the car indeed, which was good to see! Here, Mike demonstrates the old-fashioned way of checking tyre temperatures...... :)

Er, I rather suspect that was Sgr. Meiners in the T33, Mike.

Rob Hall was wearing a very similar helmet at Cholmondeley...

It fairly bundled along in a straight line Duc-Man, but was like a swinging barn door round the corners and sounded like a wet fart due to those silencers....

Sorry Tony, only just spotted your post.

Alan had spotted there's a white H on each side, but around the back they are linked by an orange ampersand, thus H&H. Then the orange racing streak featured on the trucks as part of the company logo is painted on each top side. It was meant to have a neutral colouring as he drives so many cars.

Thought I was going to make it but late finish workwise, relative to start time, now prevents that - so expect a full turn out. ):

Heres my final lot then, not all what turned up. Some from last week returned this week!

This managed a handful of laps before losing I imagine all of its oil round the esses. It was the spectators that told the marshal going into the esses. Could have been an expensive one if there were more cars on the track! but it was just before session end.

Anyone know what this is? uses a quarter of a tank doing about 10 minutes of track time.

In other news...

Even the bins seemed to be getting hot!

Posted Image

During the lunch break a helecopter landed in the paddock, photoshoots took place on the main straight. I imagine it was a well known motorbike rider!

Looks, to me, like a Bentley special of fairly recent vintage. While being beautifully presented and, no doubt, exquisitely engineered, this type of thing leaves me cold. Each to their own.
Probably testing for BDC Silverstone on 13/14 August.

Edit: beaten to it by Steve ;)

Yes, that Bentley was at the BDC last year. There are a few modern hot rod Bentleys, including a couple of recent saloons, that turn out perhaps for the one event a year.

I only got it because a guy in Eastbourne, (Stacey-Marks) had a thing for them, and you'd often see them flying around the town, though not my thing either, not one thing or another really!

I hope that is not a butchered genuine Allard; hopefully a prankster has fitted a lashed-up plastic facsimile nose to a banger-race car.

Is it me; or does the Cognac look somewhat different these days? What's the story with the change of ownership?

I have asked about the Allard amongst acquaintances 'who know' awaiting responses Pete.

The story is the Cognac was purchased at the weekend, I am afraid I did not write down the drivers name but Tim Murray might have a better memory than me. I have do not recall seeing any period pics of the car so I can't comment on any differences.
