Once again, confusion reins. I've seen a couple of paintings with Pat Hoare wearing white overalls and a orange helmet? Now I have a photo of Pat in a white helmet and overalls. Can anybody clarify this for me?

Pat Hoare always seemed to race in white overalls and a white helmet. Never saw him race in an orange helmet.

Black and white photos suggest a black helmet from 1949 to 1952, then a lighter colour - perhaps brown? - until 1958, and finally a plain white one. The earlier one(s) gave the appearance of being leather-covered, with a seam in the middle
