#64 looks like Big Rob.

FRC meeting perchance?

Can't remember which Scarborough meeting but yes it's the hard charging Mr Gourlay.

A fast and fearless rider, pity he never had any cash.

Sadly missed.

I was just looking at the pic of John Boote in the field at Assen. We were best mates through school and beyond. He has a good story to tell...but the reason that I popped my head up is because of the A7. Booty has a 40 ft container full of brand new A7 parts. Got them from America when the American Eagle ( I think) Gurney factory closed. Booty has one of everything ever made and some cracking race bikes TBH..

Thanks CP

Nice to remember Rob, he was a gent off track and a damn good rider on it.

Nice to see Lea carrying on the family tradition.

Slightly amusing (I hope) anecdote.

For my day job I work in public transport in Nottingham, and have dealings with the tram management there.

One of the pictures on a former manager's office wall was an old orange tram in a street scene somewhere. I asked what it was , and he told me that there are 2 ways of looking at that photo, taken in Milan.

It's either
the most famous opera house in the world, obscured by a bloody orange monstrosity,
or
An excellent photo of a classic 1920s Peter Witt tramcar in service in Milan, in front of some building or other.

One man's meat and all that. :)

2 legs or 2 wheels , Russ

2 wheels , I guess , errrrrrmmmmm , by then i'd got through , IIRC , 2 Arrows , a BSA Bantam , a BSA 500 Twin , a Sunbeam S7 , a AJS 350 , and was using a 650 Triumph Thunderbird with straight ports , twin Wal Phillips fuel Injectors , mounted in a Gold Star frame , Gold Star gearbox , and 21 inch front wheel with Alloy Rim , and a couple of months later had my first Kawasaki A7 350

Oh , forgot , had a YDS 2 Yamaha 250 in 1964 , also

Might have forgotten 1 or 2 , i'll think about it .....................................

Ok fair enough  But you will have to accept responsibility for the 'shoe-sock-short' combination? That can't be an optical illusion. ;)
