Jap,
Thanks for those and welcome. I was amazed to see a road racing version of the Puch 125 - and ridden by Saarinnen too. I never knew they made one.
My brother and I both had the schoolboy motocross version back in 1971, so I immediately recognised the engine with the radial fins on the cylinder head. The Dalesman Puch used a frame and cycle parts made in Yorkshire, UK, and was the first 'purpose built' schoolboy motocross machine over here. They were a huge step up from our previous machinery - converted BSA Bantams (post office bikes) which had three speed gearboxes and about 8bhp. The Puch was like a missile in comparison!
Nice photos!

Did I read (ages ago) that a Finnish rider from the early 70's had restored one of Jarno's early racebikes? Was it a little Sachs or Puch?
Help me out here chaps, the old memory's fading...
p.s. was it Pentti Pentonen?

More information about Jarno former Puch racing bike. Tunturi factory director Matti Esko-Harkke was Puch factory, and he saw the driver of the bike and he wanted to Jarno a similar bike to be ridden.
This kind of race bike has only two made. Jarno"s brother Jari Saarinen started this Puch last week show, and the sound was awesome.
Our department was also Jarno"s Yamaha, which he won a bronze medal in the World Cup series, 250 cc class, 1971. That was his first medal in world cup.
