The black car is Ian Buddery's 1983 Lola T700 Indy car.

The Marlboro liveried car is Chris Farrell's ex-Thierry Boutsen Spirit-Honda 201/5 BMW (European F2).

Pretty sure the black car is a Maurer MM83 - one of the best liveries ever imho.

And the Marlboro car is almost certainly a Spirit 201 from 1982 - Louis de Poortiere was a long-time sponsor of Thierry Boutsen (hence the Belgian flag below the roll hoop).

Both F2 cars of course.

I knew I was wrong about the black car as soon as I posted the reply.

It does look very much an F2 car and not an Indy Car.

The top one is most likely a Maurer wether it's Bellof's Maurer is anybodies guess from a picture see :-

The bottom car is a Spirit F2 car

This Marlboro bedecked ran with an enclosed 6 cylinder Honda engine so the 4 cylinder in the Marlboro bedecked picture would point to the car in question possibly being an ex Jo Gartner Chassis see :-

This is what a Lola T700 looks like :-)

Apologies I only have web pics to work with :-)

I was gonna say, if that's a CART Lola where's the rest of it? The F3000 cars from a couple of years later that used Lola's CART chassis as a base weren't exactly svelte...

Was there a rather more portly single-seater running Falcadore?

Not at Speed on Tweed, but I have seen images of a similarly coloured Indycar running at Phillip Island Historics earlier this year hidden amongst all the gorgeousness of those pre-war Alfa Romeos.

It has been suggested to me that the Spirit, or a another car similarly coloured, might be mocked up from a Ralt RT4. Glad to know this might not actually be the case.

I would keep an open mind on the 'might' the word 'possible' is used judiciously in these matters with good reason, either way if the Marlboro car is a Spirit it has a bodywork colour / engine combination that was never raced this fact alone should be grounds for copious suspicion :-)

And this .. Possibly a Sports 2000?

Looks like a Tiga S2000 to me. Possibly an SC79 or 80? Marque experts will be more clued up than me.

Looking at this Swedish site full of S2000 pics it's very difficult to tell if the #5 in question is a 79 or 80 or maybe a combination of the two, but it certainly appears to be a pre 81 Tiga :-)

I believe the black car is a DART Formula Atlantic car from 1983. We had one in the shop years ago and this car looks remarkably similar. As I remember, the car was meant to be a 7/8 scale Williams and was apparently done by a couple ex-Williams guys. Dave McMillan ran one in late '83 in the "Mondial" series (as F/A was called in those days...) Nicely done car in its day - honeycomb lower/composite upper tub.

I've had a look at which Maurer the black single seater at the top of this thread could be here are some ref pics that might shed light on the matter sorry none of the pics are mine

I'd say most likely this is a Maurer MM83 certainly seems to be the way the body work is painted but I am still not absolutely convinced by that nose looks a little too rounded.

The first car does have Maurer written across the nosecone near the wind deflector so that certainly supports the MM83 suggestions and counts against DART. The round logo on the S2000 nosecone threw me as the shot isn't sharp enough to pick out and Tiga didn't immediately occur to me. There's quite a bunch of old S2000s emerging in my corner of the world, along with some similarly aged and engined FF2000s as well. Lolas, Tigas, Swifts and a few Reynards in FF2000, although one is oddly wingless.

Just adding a whole bunch of racing and sports racing cars of varying ages to my photbucket account, over 100 now and climbing and I've had some difficulty labelling them all. Thanks all for the assists.

The black car at the speed on Tweed seen here IS a Maurer MM83 Euro F2 - chassis No1 based Brisbane Qld.
I am the owners brother.
It is in F2 form complete with BMW M12 & aluminium/carbon tub.

This car has been in Australia since October 2005 but to date this has been it's only outing.
A race debut may come later this year at an Historic race meet.

Chris Farrell is the owner of the red/white Spirit Euro F2 BMW who races quite regularly in Australian historics.
This car is apparently the ex Jo Gartner/ Thierry Boutsen example & a very nice bit of gear.

Hope this clears things up for you guys!
