Just as the antidote to Monaco and everything it represents, a friend of mine in one of the Formula 1 teams has just recommended I could switch to this, just for a break you understand...

Already looking forward to it having streamed the Tuesday evening and Thursday practice ( Shame about the new chicane at Mathers Cross though  ). Pity Steve Plater won't be taking part after falling off and breaking his arm during practice yesterday

Also worth mentioning that highlights of many of the Irish road races are screened by BT NI and although not available east of the Irish sea at the time, they do seem to be available on iPlayer immediately after.

On one of my many trips to Ulster for the Speed week-end in August five of us went on a tour of road race circuits including Ards, Dundrod and the North West 200. That particular year it was my turn to drive the hire car! We enjoyed both the Ards and Dundrod circuits but it was the NW200 that we lapped three times - 5 up on the long straight the hire car was doing particularly well to keep up with one of the locals on a motor bike! The circuit, even with its new chicanes is tremendous and well worth a watch especially the Magic Roundabout!

Because of the weather conditions, the helicam that covers the country section of the course ( ie 2/3rds of it ) has been grounded :| Only coverage from Juniper Hill to York Corner at the moment. At least they caught the 6 way fight to the finish for the Supersports race

Seeley was fantastic on the brakes [or lack of] to get the win. Brilliant move.

Quick heads up on coverage of the NW 200 next week/weekend.

BBC NI is showing highlights of the newly instituted Thursday races on Friday then live stream of the Saturday races

http://www.northwest...c-schedule.aspx

Usually get to a link via the BBC NI website. Hopefully this year will not feature the poor weather and oil chucking that destroyed last years meeting. Sadly I'll miss it as will be at Wembley hopefully watching West Hams return to the premiership ( though have mixed feelings about being a smallish fish in a rich, over media-hyped, secured on debt, fish's pond !!) .
