Down in that neck of the woods Shiner Bock is pretty popular, I like it though some don't. There are also several local micro breweries in town. You won't have a difficult time finding good beer.

After reflecting back on the $700 thing, the bars after the race sessions will see a decent chunk of change from me. I'm not alcholoic, but I like my hops and I'm going to Texas for F1 and a party. Which is part of the point, the city is going to see a tremendous increase in cashflow over the week. So, $700 at the circuit may be a bit much, but within the city I can see spending that in a day.
Do local business ever have specials for the race visitors? or is it the opposite? For example, $1 off pints if you have a race ticket.
