I saw that. But I'm asking if we're comparing what a local fan has to spend, or what an international fan has to spend. Because a Briton making £50k a year and buying a £500 ticket is the same as an American making $50k and buying $500. But an American going to Britain will spend a lot more on that ticket.
I was merely talking about local fans. Any international fan flying in for the event will surely do so in the knowledge its going to cost them a fortune.
The prices seem a bit high but in the same ballpark. Throw in plane tickets and a hotel and it starts to get pricey.
A flight from LHR is going to run about $1000 per person.
As above, for an International fan its going to be expensive. If an American decided to fly in to attend Silverstone, they would blow a fortune on flights in peak season and the grossly inflated hotels in the Silverstone area.
As an example, if you wanted to fly into Silverstone on the wednesday and leave on the monday, from a quick Expedia search, you'd be looking at £100 - £300 per night just for the hotel.
