Came accross this old photo of Irish road racers and would like some help with possible names the bikes I think are Triumph and Velocette ,the one on the far left was a butcher as far as I know and is one of the local Northern Ireland races.

The straight-ahead exhaust pipes denote a GP Triumph #50....

No 35 is Stanley Gifford on a Velocette KTT.

Early 50s this was - the "butcher" occupation rings a bell but I can't place him.

Perhaps Enniskillen "100" or Cookstown "100" ?

I'll work on it!!

Thanks I have been asking around and some older retired racers have been racking brains as well and would like to let them know as it is a nice piece of nostalgia.somebody told me one of them but couldnt remember name after the conversation.Just said that the one on the left was a butcher by trade and that his daughter was living locally all the best and thank you again.

There was a S B Gifford in the Cookstown 100 race in 1949 and any photos that I have been looking at seem to date this photo around the mid to late 40's , I have seen photos from the early 50's and all the bikes have small fairings.Havent been able to identify any of the riders but it looks like info of this period of Irish road racing is quite scarce will keep looking thanks for any replies.

Isn't Newtonards close to the Carrowdore circuit as was, one of the oldest road races?
Maybe it was taken there?
