The fifth running of the Le Mans Classic is now in the books. Very strong field of 470 cars, with too many special ones to mention. Here are the results and photo gallery:

Wow it was hot but good.
My favourite was the screaming Saab. About as compeditive as a nailed down piece of wood but you had to give it 10/10 for effort.

Here is our report with 200-shot gallery featuring all six grids and the Artcurial gallery: http://www.ultimatec...ns-Classic.html

I think it was one of the strongest field in the event's history. It was particularly great to see the Jaguar E2A and Ferrari 330 TRI/LM back in action!

Wonderful grids I agree.
I am a little surprised to see quite so many pre war racing cars without proper road equipment - they surely wouldn't have run like that in their day.

Great picture of what looks like the ''Hairy Canary'' Cobra, but to see a decal on the side for Hawk Cars-manufacturers of replica Cobra's- is just plain bizarre.

Does anyone have a photo of car 62, the 1935 Carr/Barbour Austin Seven Speedy, driven this year by Andy Storer/Chris Hudson?

Hawk Cars as well as being a manufacturer of replicas also supplies replacement parts e.g. wheels, for early Cobras and Mark IV Cobras

There were a few new cars in the 470 that turned up.
