 Hi. I'm new to this forum, but an old timer when it comes to cars and racing. I am in need of good pics of both the Lucky Strike Lotus 72 and the Gold Leaf Lotus 72. I have 4 of the 1/8 scale JPS models from the 1070's and want to make a version of each. There are several old threads here of the topics, but all the pics are gone. I not only need pics for detail (I have plenty of the JPS Lotus 72d), but I'll also need to make decals for both the Gold Leaf and the Lucky Strike in 1/8 scale. If any of the old pics can be revived, or if you have any new ones, I'd sure appreciate having them posted with links for enlargement. I may have some old stuff to share with you, too. :)

You need to buy a copy of Michael Oliver's book 'Lotus 72 : Formula 1 Icon'.

Sounds like a fun project. Who makes the model?

In regards to likelihood of getting high res photos here, please refer to this posting:

It was issued in the USA by Entex (along with a McLaren M23), but the original manufacturer was Otaki/Grip. The Entex issue is going for $1000 on Ebay, but it has also recently sold on E-bay for $250-300. Revell also reissued the kit.

There's one on abe.com for $75. But "book has a slight spine slant and a smoky smell".

Thanks. I'll try to find the book.

I actually have one of each manufacturer's version. One is pretty much a parts kit, though.

I don't I have ever run into copyright problems, but I'll be aware of that. Does anyone know what happened to all the pics from the old thread(s)?

There are some black-and-white 1972 pictures here:

...and also some blurry 8mm film from 1973.

It still makes me giggle how grumpy Dave Charlton was with having his photo taken!

FYI, not related to pictures - but related to the Lotus 72, I see a 30-minute documentary is being produced to be shown on Sky Sports next year based on the Lotus 72: https://twitter.com/#!/tyrrell005
