I couldn't find a current thread solely related to Mark Webber so I decided to start one.

For Mark Webber fans in the USA and Canada tune into Speed TV's Wind Tunnel program this coming Sunday August 15th at 9pm EST / 6pm PST.

Leigh Diffey who will be filling in for Dave Despain will be interviewing Mark Webber.

Webber'd be worth watching; Diffey won't be.

Good Luck to him !
This year he is the one who deserves it.
amazing performances and good fightbacks. Especially after a very nasty accident.

Yes Levike! And I was actually thinking of making a MW thread! So well done fastlegs. Yea he sure is doing great at present, and I hope he continues to do so, and win more often. I hope the WDC title is his prize at the end. :)

I support him, however as I lamented some time ago in the Webber vs Vettel thread I still expect Vettel to come out the victor this year in the team mate stakes, whether as the WDC is another matter not worth talking about here. Webber is quick, awesomely quick in front of the pack on occasions, but Vettel is quicker in the single lap drive off and it will reap Vettel some benefit when he gets his **** together.

I am enjoying watching Marks successes this year its a nice change, equipment matters!

According to Red Bull, Webber is not that well equipment. :p

But now horner can't make him #2 driver now. Webber has been leading the WDC for a 2nd time this season so he can win it.

Did you ever think that he would be in this position when he moved to red bull ?

I thought that a privateer car run solely as an advertising platform he would be midfield at best.

So I was wrong, for once :)

Red Bull's never been in racing solely to advertise. Mateschitz is in it to win it, at all levels.

Actually he's showing Seb how far you can penetrate Webber before he'll just start crying like a baby....

I would really like to Mark win the WDC. He would definitely be my first choice.

However, if he doesn't, I would like to see Alonso, Hamilton or Button win it. I guess I'm one of the few fans that like all these drivers. :)

I think this year Vettel lost a lot of respect from people and Mark has more backing because he's been performing well. He also doesnt look like a little weasel punk brat.

Thanks for the tip! I never watch The Wind Tunnel unless I hear that it's going to have an F1 related feature. An interview with Mark sounds like a great reason to tune in.

I wonder if anyone explained to Mark Jenkins that Webber didn't win by going off strategy he just lucked into it...

Hmm but not going off strategy he would not have lucked into anything, so I guess something in the strategy worked to a point. For the purpose of his ramble it suits I suppose.

Can you imagine how different Mark will feel compared to the other 4 drivers, he's never won a car series, let alone an f1 world championship like 3 of them; it must be strange for him and a bit of unknown added pressure..

Oh ye of little faith
You are talking about the 2010 World Drivers Champion, MARK WEBBER
McLaren lack the edge and have 2 reasonably paired drivers,
Ferrari have shown their hand,
and young Sebastian makes too many errors :smoking:
It will be good to see a GENUINE Racer, rather than a Prima Donna, take the honours
Go for it Mark, can't wait to see YOUR Celebrations and a few sulks from those that CANNOT be mentioned or CRITICISED

I think Webbo has redeemed himself for his odd sins on track hasn't he? I was pissed with him after Brazil and Nurb last year but he's been fair this year, just a bit of a wazak in Oz.

He would be the most popular wdc overall I reckon. Straightforward guy, fearless, funny, good-natured, tough as nails, and quite likely his last shot at it.

Whether he can... well a wdc at 24 is not easy for Sebi even if he has the skills. All to play for I think.

Diffey's Grand Am comments seem okay. It is odd that there are only 8 races (?) in that series and the cars cost a very large amount for "tube frame" sportscar. There are many many more than 8 high-quality road course tracks in North America are there not?

I wonder how much the cars like the Camaro / Mazda cost? As far as I can tell they are also tube frame cars, and have Mazda or Camaro bodywork positioned over the top. Are they dearer than the "production" 911s?

Hey Brandz, NOT Vettel at all
Mark wins from a position of having to do it for himself, WITHOUT Team Help :smoking:
Think of the Prima Donna that needs No.1 Status in the TEAM, WHICHEVER team he inhabits

I think Mark can win the WDC for sure. He has to keep up the momentum though. The next 3 races will be crucial for building enough of a gap over Seb to make it so the team has to put their eggs in his basket.

It not being "of little faith" its just knowing all his bad luck, you are waiting for somthing to go wrong beacuse 9/10 times it has previously!!!!!!! Ive always had the faith in Mark but not the nature of F1 if that makes sence.

Im not going to be excited untill is made offical yet - just going to dare to dream
