In Ireland many of them ( particularly the Dunlops ) compete in several classes per day at the various road race meetings ( but I assume you're referring to GP's :) )

In G.P.s Jorge Martinez won both 80 & 125 world championships in 1988, and competed in both classes again in '89 (the last year of the 80s).

He did both in 1990 as well.

In 1991, Noboyuki Wakai rode in both the 125 and 250 races at the German Grand Prix.

Rob, there was no 80cc class in 1990 anymore, so Martínez competed in 250cc (22nd overall) and 125cc (6th overall with 3 wins) that year.

Peter Lindén had an interesting US GP meeting at Laguna Seca in 1990, finished 9th in the 500cc race and partnering Billy Gällros to 12th in the sidecar race. He didn't do any other sidecar GPs that season (according to Racing Memo). I'm not sure if he competed in 250cc and 500cc in the same events that year, but he might well have done so.

Several more drivers competed in two classes in the final seasons of the 80cc class. Scoring points in both classes in 1989 (apart from Martínez) were Julian Miralles and Herri Torrontegui.

rd500 is correct about Chris Walker starting with a wild-card in both 250cc (21st) and 500cc (15th) in the 1995 British GP. However I don't think Reinhold Roth competed in the 500cc class in 1985.

You're correct. I plead insanity. :stoned:
