[Giraffe]

I met up with Peter Cates in Birmingham yesterday lunchtime. Peter tells me he raced extensively on the club scene during the 1960s in New Zealand in everything from a mini to a Ford Mustang and was a contemporary and college friend of Bruce McLaren.
Peter now lives alone in the UK in Solihull and has had serious health issues over recent years. I mentioned TNF to him and told him that I would open a thread in the hope of putting him back in contact with any of his old buddies who may be on the forum.

Pictured here at Silverstone last year is Peter on the left of his mate of 50 years,Colin Giltrap who ran the New Zealand A1GP team.

Missed this first time round
I don't think I ever met Peter, but remember his name as a winning Mini driver in early Pukekohe club meetings in the days of West Marshall and the likes
