Are some here collectors regarding F1 sports memorobilia ?

I'm sure some members would like to share the priceless gems they own and collect ....( photos would be appreciated , if you wish )

I'm a Schumacher fan-atic

My collection includes alot of his 1:18 metal die-casts F1 cars like :

-1995 Benetton with Jean Alesi riding on top his engine cover ( Canada edition )
-1996 Ferrari
-2000 Ferrari
-2001 Ferrari
-2002 Ferrari
-2003 Ferrari
-2004 Ferrari
-2006 Ferrari
-2010 Mercedes

I also have Mika Hakkinen's 1998 McLaren , that's a beauty  and Ralf Schumacher's 1997 Jordan ''Buzzin Hornets''

My collection also includes an MS 2002 coffee cup (perfect for Grand-Prix week-ends) , a huge , and I mean HUGE MS 2001 banner-flag.
It measures 8 feet x 6 feet ! I got some of his caps like the 1997 DEKRA Ferrari cap and his Deutchvermogetsberatung caps from early 2000-2001 ....

Official Ferrari & Mercedes merchandice like T-shirts - Pit Jackets etc

I got DVD's , Books - all F1 and Schumacher related ...

A licensed 100% authentic Autographed frame of Schumacher with serial number ...

But what I'm most proud of my collection is my motorcycle helmet that I got painted EXACTLY like Schumacher's 2002 Ferrari helmet ...

That helmet is priceless ...

So what's in your collection ?

I have around ~80 1/18 diecast F1 cars, with my piece de resistance being a 1/12 Lotus 97T, Senna, Portuguese GP 1985 with rain tyres and full tobacco sponsorship.

My prized posessions are photos of myself with Ayrton Senna, Juan Manuel Fangio and Michael Schumacher in Adelaide which are framed on the wall.

Also have two steering wheels mounted on plaques, one Betrand Gachot's from the Larrousse LC192 and Erik Comas's from the Ligier JS37. I also have a set of Olivier Panis's overalls from the 1996 Australian GP. A few other pieces like Mugen-Honda spark plugs from the Ligier JS41 and a truck load of titanium skid plates and few other bobs and bits.

I have a 2005 Renault Mild Seven team shirt signed by Fernando Alonso hung in my wardrobe. I also have a 2003 Ferrari team shirt with full Marlboro branding but thats as far as any collection I have goes. I used to be a big fan of Alonso's and got the shirt at the 2005 British GP where I got him to sign it in the paddock.. The Ferrari shirt was given to me through my work and being a Mclaren fan I've obviously never worn it. :p

Here's a little story for you.

I had about 50 classic F1 and racing related tee-shirts.I kept them in my bottom drawer and had usually taken a few with me on tour from time to time.
My wife was always bitching about how they cluttered up the place and looked tatty.

A few years ago I went on a winter tour leaving them all safely tucked away. When I returned I went down to my little pub for a beer.
I was listening in on a conversation with a few of my race fan mates who were discussing about how they saw a treasure trove of F1 tee-shirts sitting in the window of a local charity shop.

I thought....Hmmm...

I went home, looked in my drawer, to find..... ALL GONE!!!
The next morning I awoke early, marched down to the charity shop, and bought them all back (minus one classic 80's AGIP shirt) for 50p each!!!
Putting them back in the drawer, I then waited....
Later that very day my wife was putting away some laundry and I heard her yell...OH ****!!!

I have a load of minichamps and onyx models in the small scale - is that 1:43?

my prized one though is one my girlfriend (now wife) bought me when we were on holiday in st tropez. It is a fully Marlboro liveried 2003 ferrari. Anyone who has collected these or knows anything about die-cast f1 cars knows it is pretty hard to find a tobacco branded car.

It sits on my man shelf in the lounge!

I worked at Silverstone for some time too, and spent many an hour in the BRDC clubhouse where they have a small part of the worlds largest collection of scaled motor racing vehicles, everything including le mans, f1, touring cars etc. It's very impressive.

2006 Fernando Alonso beach towel
2007 Ferrari cap
2007 Ferrari race jacket
2010 Mercedes cap
2010 Mercedes race jacket (it's a fake, but it's the best damn fake ever.. Looks 100% authentic and better than official merchandise)
Ferrari key chain
Michael Schumacher shirt (circa 2002 or 2003, I forget)

I had an F1 coffee mug that was really nice looking, but it broke. I need to get a new one.

I would have assumed that these memorabilia would not just be things that can be purchased.

I snuck into the pits during qualifying at the 1978 Canadian GP as a kid and got autographs from almost every driver on the grid.
They actually though it was cool that I could sneak in, so they called other drivers to sign my book, this was led by Villeneuve.

Villeneuve won the race the next day.

The Gilles Villeneuve autograph is framed in a poster, the rest are in a bank safety deposit box to give to my kids.

All sennas cars and all jordans in 1:43rd, also a nice jps lotus senna poster and season reviews from about 80-97 (stopped buying after the narrow tracks came in)

i went through a senna 'period' after he died but i'm not really a fan tbh, i've been thinking about getting Mansell/Alesi/Montoyas cars but where the hell do you put them? think i might just leave it.

A bunch of 1/18s and 1/43s, lots of clothing stuff. A signed Kimi/Massa baseball cap and my favourite things - front and rear rims off a Williams FW25 that currently do duty as little side tables.

Outstanding!!!!

I guess you could say my roughly 75K racing image archive is my memorobilia. Started taking snaps in '74 and took my last ones...on film anyway...in '93 or therabouts.

Since Gilles was my favorite, here is my Gilles set on flickr.....

Here's the link to all my stuff on flickr......

http://www.flickr.co...s/46681980@N03/

It represents roughly 1% of what I have.

Needless to say, I still have a lot of scanning ahead of me.

A good friend of mine has Jan Lammers Silk Cut Jaguar helmet and overalls from when he won Le Mans in 1988. I can't quite get the zip done up at the front, but I'm sure they will be worth a fair bit in a few years. :)

I have a host of magazines/posters/prints, along with a number of Autocourses dating back to the very early 80's. Love getting them out for a read after a long while.

I also have personally signed caps/books of Fernando Alonso, Michael Schumacher, Jacques Villeneuve, Valentino Rossi and Massa.

I have the front bumper moulding, in carbon/kevlar, from Colin McRae's 1999 Monte Carlo Rally Ford Focus WRC (S7 FMC), complete with gaffer-taped damage which can be seen on many contemporary photo's. He finished third on the car's debut but was then disqualified on a minor technical infringement. I also have a "battle-damaged" 18" magnesium wheel from the same event.

I'll again try to get some pics up but I have a modest little collection of F1 and other motorsport gubbins

BAR 2003 Rear wing endplate signed by Button
Benneton 1994 smaller-behind-the-front-wheel-barge-board - thought to be from the #4 chassis which would happen to be the JJ Lehto San Marino car / Verstappen Germany car.
A Canon liveried Williams rear wing element circa 1986-1993 exact model unknown - as far as i'm concerned its an FW14b!
Signed Mark Webber Jaguar Racing cap
Signed, mounted, framed and hung in the hall photo of Sir Jack Brabham
Print of Schekter and Villeneuve at Monaco 1979 signed by Jody
Many Signed 1/43 models including Coulthard Mclaren, Giovanardi Alfa, Brabham/Turner/Rydel Aston Martin DBR9
David Brabham's Michelin Podium cap from 2010 ALMS season signed by the man himself (aquired at Autosport International racing for charity auction)
Plus many other autographs on various programmes, books, DVDs and photos including Mcnish, Moss and Surtees.

Theres more but I can't think off the top of my head.

I've a DFV piston and spark plug which I received for a small contribution to the Surtees Team mechanics beer fund at Long Beach. I also have a number of prints of photos I shot at Long Beach signed by the driver in the photo. Drivers such as Villeneuve, Pironi, Jones, Depailler, deAngelis, Fittipaldi, etc. I also have a number of photos of non-F1 drivers similarly signed. Then there are the stickers, and the posters, and the books........

Yes, I have it bad.

That McLaren is Gilles Silverstone race version minus the tobacco markings.
The Test version did not have his name on the side of the car. Minichamps never produced a test version.

My late brother Greg worked for Nicholson McLaren Engines in 1974 & 75 and used to post stickers to me in Australia. I have attached some samples. I have the complete season of the Marlborough stickers. I do like the Maki sticker as it is rather obscure.

They really are terrific aren't they?! When I covered the IMSA series in the US in 1991 I was always struck by the programme covers (and race posters) in that they were almost always paintings as opposed to photographs.

I will try and dig some out and put them up.

My F1 stuff couldn't be considered a collection, I think: bought a few 1:43 models, mostly red, a few programs (for research, mind you). The two items worth mention are my flagman's pass and my Stirling Moss story from Riverside, 1960:
