Amongst the sea of brown envelopes it is always a joy to find a jiffy bag with the next installment of Motorfilms enclosed it seems never to disappoint.

In volume 25 an account in colour of the 1947 Bonneville land speed record when John Cobb exceeded 400MPH in a wheel driven car

Part 2 of the splendid Jack Lemon Burton interview with his photos of his exploits driving and dealing in Bugatti cars pre war at hillclimbs and Brooklands.... and his contact with Ettore Bugatti.

A close up examination of Lord Raglan's Bugatti type 51 with period footage and interview.

1985 ETC , 25 years on you forget just how effective those Rover SD1 cars were ( not helped by Clarkson having spent 2 decades denegrating British made cars to viewers in favour of anything from Germany or Italy ).
Those TWR Rovers were the class of the field, Walkinshaw was highly successful with all the cars he operated in the 1980s.

Finally real gold dust... recently discovered film of the 1950 Le Mans in B&W great picture quality , silent but with Doug expertly describing the cars , drivers and the extensive paddock and pits footage... this is really a great find filmed by a team insider unlikely to have ever been caputed elsewhere.
It is another great set of films .

Have other subscribers received their copies? I don't want to start another saga like Motor Sport and I know that the Royal Mail has had problems, but it's well over two wees.

Those of you who have enjoyed the J Lemon Burton interviews on vols. 24 and 25 may be interested to know that Motorfilms have also produced a DVD covering these interviews with extended footage, whilst there is also a film of Lord Raglan's talk tothe Bugatti Trust, together with film of some Bugatti events at home and abroad.

I received a letter today "reminding" me that my subscription finished after issue 24!

It was remiss of me not to thank E.B. for his hilarious response.

Bought the Jack Lemon Burton DVD yesterday and have just watched it with a broad smile throughout. Sadly, I never met JLB. What a character :)

Highly recommended.

Only just got vol 26, apparently my subscription had run out.

1955 Le Mans

1985 ETC with the TWR Rover SD1s

Indianapolis 1915 and 1919

Jack Lemon Burton Bugatti dealer interview part 3

Monzanapolis 500 1957

That 1915 Indy interesting nearly 100 years old rare to see anything surface from that long ago.

Jack Lemon Burton from the days when cars like that had rather more sensible valuations

I have never seen footage from the Monza oval before.

Has anybody else found that the commentary on the 55 Le Mans film is out of sync with the film? Raymond Baxter seems to be describing the scene before last.

Yes I did notice that myself immediately Roger the opening sequence is quite well used in other compliations because of that I suppose the difference is apparent, it doesn't matter as no one speaks.

I have received a PM from Doug Nye apologising for this and saying that David Wegeulin will look at the master. I like that kind of customer service.

Looks to me as if the sound is 6 secs behind the pictures, strange how that can have happened I have not seen that before.
In all honesty not a big issue there is no lip sinc involved and it is a great quality colour print.
Does not really detract , just strange how it might have happened, may be several versions were produced. I have a short version that is in sinc , part of a Triumph compilation taking in rallies Spitfires Heralds etc.
