3 Name the 80's racing brothers from Burnley who were in the wholesale flower business and name three makes of car they raced?

4 Which well known Scottish racing school instructor had his own team in 1982 running Anthony Reid?

5 Name the Morpeth menswear shop owner who raced the ex-Fittipaldi 'Moonraker' F2 Lotus and a Clan Crusader?

6 Name the Father/Daughter racers from Shildon in the NE?. The Father built his own FF which he named after himself.

7 Whose car somersaulted over a trackside toilet block at Ingliston in 1975?

8 Who caused young girls to throw themselves in the lake at Mallory Park at a Radio 1 raceday in the seventies?

3 would be the Bridge brothers (and father), had Mallock and Vision and I presume one other, and the Ledbury business in 10 would be Christal Racing?

I think Rick Gorne is the right answer, but it was indeed 1979 when he wrecked the Argo at Ingliston
There was no British Atlantic series in 1978, and no Atlantic race at Ingliston

I'll need to do more research before posting on here, and not rely on the old memory!!, I could have checked this one though!

Note the Barratt oak tree logo !!! spooky

bit of a shame for Barratt as they sponsored the car, the meeting and the race!

Dan, I mainly recall their early cars and stopped getting programmes in 1981 . The S2000 was one with the flowing , all-enveloping bodywork. Shrike sprang to mind. The yellow paint really attracted insects! and I seem to recall they spent a lot of time wiping greenfly off it! Cheers Ian

I was at that meeting. There were a lot of jokes about oak trees of course! The Barratt helicopter was there too - it was famous in their adverts at the time. I seem to remember Russell Spence driving one of their cars at Ingliston. I'll have to dig my programmes out!

Broken driveshaft? I cannot remember that.

What I can remember was that strange bloke that took all the photographs at Ingliston. He must have thousands of fantastic photographs but it appears he much prefers to post strange looking Italian cars on TNF rather than some decent Ingliston photographs.

13) Alfonso Toledano (Mexico), Enrique Mansilla (Argentina) and Ayrton da Silva (as he was then) (Brazil)

Sadia SA were Brazil's largest meat processor - In the UK we tended to think of them as makers of gas water-heaters.

I suspect #11 might be a reference to John Walker's FF2000 weapon, the Myrtle Special (although really it was a reworked Crosslé, as any fule kno)...

I really thought the Myrtle had legs as an answer to #11. There is a golf ball called Myrtle on Twitter and there are at least two satirists called John Walker. I'm deeply intrigued.

It,s actually The Pete Rogers Trophy ,not memorial, my mistake...

You are very close - Most Outstanding Performance by a British Driver at the Formula Ford Festival , well done...

15 may be a bit obscure ... it was something to do with Indylantic...

Mildly embarrassing that I didn't get #18. I used to be on the judging panel for the Pete Rogers Trophy...

I seem to recall that Indylantic had a strange qualifying system, based on results achieved in three short sprint races. Was the Griffin Golden Helmet awarded for the most feature race poles, or something relating to the highest number of victories recorded during these qualifying races?

Well done Simon,

Griffin Golden Helmet- " A brand new Griffin Grand Prix helmet will be presented to the driver achieving pole position at each Indylantic race in the series. At the end of the season the driver with the best practice record will be awarded the Griffin Golden Helmet - a special trophy valued at £1000. " - Wonder if it had gold frangible bolts!?

Anyway, thanks to everyone for taking part - seems to have stirred a few brain cells!!

and thanks to Ronmac for the inspiration!...;)

Cheers Ian
