Hello,

maybe (certainly) this topic was already discussed--but I didn't find it.

In 1959(??) the ACO 'invented' the (pre) testdays for the 24 hours, which still exist (in some form) today.
Following the tests in the 60s and 70s , there were also some 4 hour races on the full circuit. Wimpffen also mentions the pretests.
Is there a 'complete' list already existing of these tests and 4 hour races???

Many thanks Michael

Sorry are all specialists on holiday??Or is the question too easy?? Wondering where all the LM specialists are!! And an absolute copyright/lawyer-free topic!!
For certain: 1959 was the year were the tests took place the first time..

Many thanks and best regards

Michael

Well, I am certainly no specialist, Michael, but there are bits of information dotted around TNF and threads like this one:

MCS thank you! I'll take it as starting point.Thought it was all discussed already.. That would be a topic for a book on the 3/4 hour races..
And all Testweekends..
Thanks again Michael

Though I have been to Le Mans on at least a dozen occasions I never got to see any tests, 3 or 4 hour races they seem to have been abandoned in the eighties. Lots of results here including a few photo's :-)
