I was absolutely confident that there was a general 'etceterini' thread, but I cannot find one...
Which leaves my plan to add this to it a bit in the lurch:
I found this in a tourist guide to the Autostrada del Sole, which I've had in my map collection for some time. I had no idea it was so old, but I've never looked into it before and I don't know how I came to see this page now anyway!
But I thought it would be an interesting question to pose... is the Innocenti 950 'etceterini'?
Is this 'etceterini'?

I don't undertand the question and I may be stating the obvious but it is a Spridget based innocenti built using the knock down kits supplied by BMC

Does it have the wider track of the A40?
Frankly, the thought of 'Spridget-based' hadn't occurred to me because I don't think of Farina A40s as being as recent as Sprites!

Yes, it does...
It's Sprite running gear including the skinny (A30) rear axle.

I think that I can speak on behalf of Jarl and John DeBoer, who invented the term "Etceterini", that an A40 ain't an Etceterini. The Innocenti 950 however is a different kettle of Cioppino...

I just received this response from John DeBoer:
Hi David,
Happy 2011 and beyond!
I think it matters very little if Innocenti 950 owners wish to adopt
the "etceterini" moniker. The word is misused more often than not so
it has already become a word that has lost its intended meaning. Stu
Schaller, [dretceterini] who claims to have used the word before I created it, likes
to use it for small French cars as well. Me? I think that the French
like to create words and should come up with their own. Nothing
against the small French builders. I like a lot of their cars too!
All the best.
John

I didn't post this to make a case for the Innocenti 950 to be named as one...
But I would expect it would be a car that would attract some thought before agreement or dismissal.
Nobody would think the A40 belonged anywhere other than the tip. Sorry, Twinny.
