I'm looking for a race report on the USAC Road Racing Championship race at Vaca Valley Raceway on September 27, 1959. I'm aware that Augie Pabst won, and I've seen results, what I'm looking for is a race account from a contemporary racing paper or magazine.

Road & Track, January 1960, pages 73-74, has four columns and two b/w pix.

Vintage Racecar magazine, November 2010, page 58 of article, "American Road Racing Goes Pro" has two long paragraphs describing this race. I got my info from the aforementioned Road & Track article, plus Competition Press and the USAC archives. Having said that, not much exists in print from that time. My best source was an interview with Augie Pabst.
