I am looking for some informations about the Sexton Trophy 1966 , especially about a driver named Brian Cullen, who did drive a Lotus 20 then.
He also had an accident that year at Phoenix Park when the suspension collapsed.
If anybody would know anything about that it would be highly appreciated.
Thank you all in advance for any answers.
Ralf

The Sexton Trophy was an annual competition held in the Irish Republic with, I think, points awarded on the results hillclimbs and races and possibly other events besides. Winner in 1966 was Richie Heeley in a supercharged Lotus 22
Brian Cullen was one of the best-known Irish drivers of that time and into the 1970s
Some of our friends from that side of the Irish Sea should be able to help much more

David - thank you for your reply.
I would like to know a bit more about Brian Cullen, maybe from that season.
Any ideas where to look ?
I could find nothing via Google etc.

Ralf: try the Irish Times website. There are at least 21 references to Cullen in 1966 alone.

I'd suggest searching for everything you want first and noting the references and then buying a 24 hour pass for 10 euro: all articles can be downloaded as PDFs. I have about 300 from the 30s, downloaded in a marathon session!
edit: There's also the Irish Newspaper Archive, which returns about 20 hits (maybe more). Same deal - 10 euro for 24 hours, but I've never actually used it myself.
