I am looking for a track record that Gerry Marshall may hold or held at Silverstone in 1983.

He was driving a Lotus Esprit Turbo in the Uniroyal Tyres Production Sports & Saloon series of races.

The dates are:

March 6, 1983 Qualified 2nd and finished 3rd. (car number 11)
May 30, 1983 Qualified 1st and retired with a broken gear linkage. (car number 111)
June 12, 1983 Qualified 1st and retired with an engine fire. (car number 11)

If you have photos please post them....

Thank you, Jim Pennington

For the June 12th race, Gerry Marshall is shown with fastest lap at 1m 48.49 (97.70mph), and stated to be a Class record, in Autosport 16.6

For the May 30th race, his fastest lap is shown as 1m 07.33s (85.98mph) but it is not indicated to be a record (again, according to Autosport).

(Gregor may be able to confirm or refute these if he sees this thread.)

In Autosport again:
For the earlier, March 6th race, fastest lap is given as 1m 06.92 s and "00.00moh". So if that time is correct, the slower lap in May was clearly not a record, but this this one isn't show as being so either. Not clear whether "00.00mph" is a mistake or the speed was not given, but a number of other speeds are shown as ??.?? in the same results panel for that meeting. I recall many times when issued results were not quite complete - and I think Jeremy Shaw (the journalist in this case) was pretty diligent so the time might be assumed to be correct.
