Thanks Again for the great thread, Brian. Someday I will scan more images to add here, just a kid then so not many to share. But I sure appreciate what you've done, the memory triggers you've clicked are the same for me as you said — and that's worth its weight in gold. I find myself pondering bringing the GP back to the Glen, highly unlikely but fun to dream about. Thinking idealistically, I wonder about starting a fund for just such a thing, but the longer time goes by the fewer we have left to support such a nostalgic notion... "Forget the Past" is about as wrong a concept as has ever been uttered.
Seen while perusing TNF this morning; from the Nürburgring. A few b&w pictures from my friend's archive thread.
E1, I'm pleased that you are enjoying this subject also. It is alot of fun for me to make these trips down "memory lane". It is amazing to me the number of times a photo or a statement will trigger a long lost memory that returns so strong that you swear you are living it again. Thanks for the kind words, contributions and support that you've shared.
Now, JJ, on the other hand to my sparse and youthful imagery, awesome Ickx image! I can't decide if I see relief there, or trepidation about what might have been, lost dreams, or what he might be thinking. One fine image of a fine driver, with the prettiest daughter in all of racing (had to get that in there ).
